“Unmatchable location just a few hundred metres from the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path.”

Beautiful, tastefully decorated old Malt House ideal for old-fashioned 'swallows and amazons' family escape right by the sea. Our boys adored crabbing in Solva harbour and we all enjoyed our bracing morning walks along the coastal path. A week was too short so we definitely plan to return sometime for a longer summer break.

“Luxurious Welsh cottage, perfect costal bolthole and well equipped for the whole family”

What a lovely, relaxing stay at Carreg Wen. The cottage was spotless when we arrived and had everything you could wish for in a holiday home - from cake tins to a frisbee for the beach! Our toddler was also well catered for with a cot and highchair as well as a cupboard full of games and jigsaws.

We attempted the coastal walk to Solva with 3 children which they all managed fine and we were even able to walk right out to the next cove when we arrived as the tide was right out. The kids loved rock pooling and we loved the fish and chips lunch afterwards on the quayside!

Whitesands beach was also great for seal spotting and the woollen mill at Melin Tregwynt provided local historical interest, tea and cakes and a shopping opportunity.

The house was tastefully decorated with locally sourced wool cushions, blankets and lampshades, ensuring every room felt cosy whatever the weather! Our only niggle was that, whilst we loved the open plan feel of the cottage including the balcony between the first floor bedrooms, it did mean that noise travelled easily upstairs from the lounge. (And mobile phone reception is very patchy, treat it as an opportunity to get way from it all!)

“Lovely cottage overlooking St. Brides bay”

We have enjoyed a fabulous week at Carreg Wen. The cottage is in a beautiful location close to Solva, St. David's and the Pembrokeshire National Park coast path. The cottage is well equipped for couples and/or families with two double bedroom upstairs and one twin bedroom on the ground floor. The kitchen, dining room and lounge are well equipped and flow as a single open-plan space. The bonus is the sun room, overlooking the garden and with great sea views across the fields to St. Brides bay. We noted a lack of coat hangers, hanging space and hair dryer, although not essential, would make the property even better.
We enjoyed walking along the coast path from the cottage into Solva to explore the harbour and lime kilns, and in the opposite direction to St. David's with the Cathedral and Bishops Palace. Both Solva and St. David's offer a selection of local craft/gift shops, pubs and cafes.
We were sad to leave the lovely cottage and amazing views at the end of our week stay, we hope to return.

“Beautiful house in beautiful spot”

Just returned from New Year here with friends and our two year old. Can't recommend it enough - the house is beautifully designed and appointed and very cosy with incredible views across the fields to the sea beyond. Andy the owner was so nice, too - very helpful and welcoming, with lots of useful advice. Will definitely come again.
