Description: At The Cambrian Inn you will find the best of both world’s, a welcoming relaxed lounge bar and the simple yet stylish main dining room. The lounge bar with its relaxed atmosphere is the perfect place to enjoy a pre or post dinner drink, or if you are not heading for the main dining room, you can just sit back and relax in one of the comfy chesterfields, enjoy your drink, order some snacks or delve into our wonderful bar menu, available every lunch and evening. With dishes like our Pembrokeshire Wagyu beef burger using the finest meat reared in the county and a selection of fresh fish caught daily by Solva fishermen you can get a true taste of Pembrokeshire. The main dining room, with it’s exposed stonework, original pitch pine beams and contemporary furnishings provides the perfect environment for you and your party to enjoy your selection of dishes and wines that have been carefully put together by the resident Head Chef, Matthew Cox and his team. We like to feel we cater for all, with a wide selection of meat, poultry, fish, game and of course vegetarian dishes using only the best local produce wherever possible. Matthew’s menus reflect his simple yet sophisticated approach, which relies on the quality of the ingredients to speak for themselves.

During the season and especially at weekends this place is heaving and booking is essential. They operate bookings in time slots and as ours had run over we sat waiting at the bar until our table became available and were therefor able to watch the maître de in action. A party had arrived who insisted that they had booked although no record was found on the restaurant booking sheet. This was happening at a time when many tables were running over and there were many like us who were beginning to fret that tables were not available. Perhaps management are being a touch greedy with their booking system but we were very impressed that this charming women managed to hold everything together whilst maintaining her composure - the result was that all the impatient customers were shown to the tables and seemed quite contented.
The service was prompt and our waitress, working during her university vacation, was attentive and friendly.
The food was basic but tasty and well cooked.
We enjoyed our visit and would eat here if visiting lovely Solva again.

Popped in for lunch as we were in the area. Relaxed and comfortable ambience, nice decor and very friendly and accommodating staff. I had the king prawns in garlic and coriander with aioli and crusty bread while my husband had a very ample ploughmans with particularly delicious cheeses. I had the homemade white chocolate cheesecake which was one of the best I'de had and my husband went for three little jars of local ice cream which were absolutely delicious....I helped him out with those as they were more than ample ! A very good lunch all in all.

Had lunch with our little daughter and the staff where really friendly. Fish and chips was great! Nice crunch and fresh fish! Seasoned olives, white bait entrée... It was enjoyable to sit, chat and eat good food, with great service. Visited again for dinner. Waited for our table in a nicely appointed section of the restaurant for a few minutes, with staff looking after us. The meal was great. Subtle flavours and perfectly cooked. Good selection of wines at reasonable prices.

Would have gone back for another meal if we had a longer stay.

Well done to the chef and staff!

A very nice atmosphere, welcoming on arrival, staff seemed genuinely interested in maing sure you had an enjoyable meal. They were also very knowledgable about the dishes.

The menu offers lots of choice, the food quality is excellent and beautifully presented.

I'm glad we booked our table earlier in the afternoon (Sunday) as the dining room filled up very quickly around 8 pm.

A really enjoyable experience.

Eaten here a few times recently; once during fish week and once this week. We visited in a large group which was accommodated for with ease. Great selection of food on the menu and I couldn't recommend the venison burger much more, it's really great.
The downsides of the meal came with the service. Despite the staff being friendly and polite I feel that there were a few areas of the service that were lacking. For example. our starters were not fully taken away before our mains arrived, we had our mussel shells and finger bowls left after the starters, some of which we had to move to and adjacent table to make room for our mains. We would also have expected to be offered the wine list but instead we did have to ask for it a couple of times. A portion of chips seemed to have been forgotten from one of the meals and cutlery needed to be requested in a couple of cases. Finally, after we had ordered our desserts we were gently reminded that the table would need to be freed up for the next guest in 15 minutes. We hadn't been forewarned about this, but the server said that we should have been informed at the start.
Overall then a good meal, have recommended and will continue to recommend to family and friends, and certainly will be back at some point in the future.
