Didn't stay but booked in for supper and had lovely meal. Small menu, which is always a good sign. Fresh food cooked well.

Never done one of these reviews before but felt we had to after having such a lovely stay! :)
We we looking for a pub-b&b for a night to do some walking on the coast path, and came across this little gem. We had a warm welcome from the owner Dave, and were very well looked after by his wonderful mother (her name escaped us, sorry!). There are just 2 rooms so it really is like a 'home from home'. The room wasn't huge but was very comfy with everything we needed and a really nice modern bathroom. Slept like a log! We ate in the restaurant (pate and fishcakes, followed by scallops and lobster, and Eton mess) and it was superb. Delicious, really good value, and sizeable portions - best meal out for a long time. Had some local real ale and a bottle of wine. We were told Dave was particular about the drinks he served and the pub is the only non-brewery owned in Solva - good work! Breakfast was another feast, all freshly cooked and served when we wanted it (after a much needed lie in - thanks!). All in all a really friendly, relaxed and lovely place to stay. Will be back!

Room Tip: Just 2, both quite similar but I think room 2 has a bath, room 1 (the "poppy room") just a...

We arrived at the hotel on a rainy Sunday afternoon and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. We stayed in Room 1 which was very spacious and nicely decorated. There were plenty of toiletries and coffee/tea making supplies. The room was very clean as was the en suite. The shower was wonderful, spacious and a farly powerful shower. One thing that was quite odd was the sound the toilet made after it was flushed, it was a loud clunking sound however it only lasted for about 10 seconds and wasn't really a nuisance unless you would want to flush the loo at night.
We also had our evening meal at the restaurant and the portion sizes were huge...very good value for money as well as being delicious.
We had to order what we wanted for breakfast the night before and there was a lot of choice. The breakfast was very tasty.
We would stay here again and would recommend to friends and family.

We stumbled upon this place after seeing our booked accommodation at the Gamlyn ( aka a woman's house with glass paneling separating her living room from the BnB ). At 65 pounds for a double ensuite, the room ( 2) was a bit small (really low ceilings) but has a lovely modern bathroom with long tub and heated towel rack. Room number 1 is huge but has only a shower stall. I think it's pretty random but overall still a good value.

Staff are friendly and the food is excellent as well, if a bit pricey! If I ever get a chance to come back to Solva I would definitely stay here again.

Well located in the village of Solva some 200 yards from the harbour. Comfortable bar and lounge area. The refurbished bedrooms are very good indeed. Food is good quality.
Friendly atmosphere. This is a real pub but at the higher end of the scale.
