The views are to die for Sue and Dave are so lucky to wake up to them everyday. If photography is your thing you have nature on the door step. You get a warm and welcoming reception. The facilities are brilliant and whether you're a walker, biker, camper or B&B it suits everyone. Clean showers and toilets, ample secure storage for bikes, car parking, facilities for washing up, even a microwave and fridge. The Coed-y-Brenin centre is a mile down the road, you can't get any closer!!

The B&B is well presented clean and tidy. I had the Dairy Room last time which was spacious with comfortable beds and a well stocked welcome tray in the room. The continental breakfast is by definition cold not hot, it is good and there's plenty of it. If you want a cooked breakfast do "room only" and go to the visitors centre for your breakfast. Yes, the sinks are small but how hard is it to turn on the shower to wash your face if space is a problem!!

To sum up Cae Gwyn is great value for money and a wonderful place to stay.

Stayed in the B&B for BH weekend. On the plus side - location to Mtb centre excellent and after walking to the local pub in the evening we did get a pre-arrange lift home so none of our group had to drive. Those that camped said it was good. However the B&B was very average. As stated by a previous review the sinks are tiny making washing difficult and our shower went back and forwards from very cold to very hot making a nice shower after a hard ride very uncomfortable. It was explained to us that the water came off the hills and peat sometimes blocks the filters. In our minds this would explain poor water volume but not temperature changes. The breakfast is DIY Continental style but definitely not up to the standard of the Continent and a disappointment and not really good enough for a farm B&B. It consisted of cerials, sliced bread to toast, with jams, pre-wrapped processed cheese and fruit and yoghert. No warm boiled eggs, meat slices or cheese board or lovely crusty bread just very processed long life food. The bed was under a skylight with an inadequate cover and the early morning light blazed brightly in our eyes and the very sloping roof meant you had to be careful not to get up quickly and bang your head. Suggest good eye covers. Again on the positive, the sun deemed to shine upon us and the local pub, whilst busy and slow did serve Mountain Biker portions of good food and great beer and the local biking is great fun. Would probably camp next time in preference to the B&B which is overpriced for what you get.

Room Tip: Camp instead, that way you can have a cooked breakfast.

We are very disappointed that you didn't enjoy your stay with us. We feel we are honest about the services we provide and that we offer good value for money. We only use good quality products for our continental breakfast. However, we will take your comments into consideration and where possible make improvements.

I recently stayed at Cae Gwyn farm in a party of seven, and had the benefit of Sue and Dave running the B&B. First the location for mountain biking is excellent, 2 miles from the Coed-y-Brenin centre. The value of the B&B was excellent, the bedding was clean, the facilities for bike storage and bike cleaning excellent, the local pubs and restaurants were pointed out nearby, along with the option to get a lift there and arrange for lifts back. Our party was able to use the breakfast room into the evening (obviously with consideration to other guests) which was a real bonus as the rooms do vary in size.

Only a couple of minor gripes, the showers are basic and not powerful, with occasionally fluctuating temperature, additionally, the sinks are shallow and do not allow for comfortable face washing or teeth cleaning. Finally, the skylights have only the thinnest of blinds, so if you are looking for a lie-in, then take eye-covers! Having said that, the positives far outweight the negatives, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this location again. Thanks Sue and Dave.

Room Tip: If you can, get the dairy room on the ground floor.

If you are looking for an alternative to camping under canvas but don't want (or can't stretch to) B&B then the camping barn at Cae Gwyn Farm is perfect!

My 5 kids (ages 8 to 11) and I stayed in the Barn for 3 nights after Easter 2012 and despite the snow all around we found a warm welcome from Sue & Dave and a well appointed, heated, barn (sleeps 10) complete with cooker, fridge, sink, TV and sturdy camping cots that were a perfect alternative to lugging a tent 200 miles and trying to pitch it on the steel hard frozen ground with the bonus of a warm WC and shower room with plenty of hot water.

The farm is set just off the A470 with spectacular views west over the valley towards the (snow capped) mountains behind which the sun sets.

Dave and Sue were very accommodating of my five young traveling companions especially as it was lambing season and there were lots of lambs needing bottles (and cuddles).

Del the, sheep dog, was great with the children as was "Wibbly" the lamb (now 2!) and it was very interesting talking to our hosts about life on the farm and the rare fresh water pearl muscles that live in the river running across the land.

We had the B&B continental breakfast on our last day which was very nice in the B&B lounge area (which is separate from the main house) and good value (and meant I didn't have to do any washing up!)

We will definitely return as we were made very welcome and it's in an ideal central location with easy access to Barmouth (15 miles), Blaenau Ffestiniog (13 miles), Porthmadog (16 miles) and Snowdown (25 miles) plus there are, as you would expect, loads of walks (and mountain biking tracks) nearby.

A friend & I were looking for a good place to camp & also be central to the mountain bike centres.
We spent a week camping here & couldn't of asked for more. The welcome we received was fantastic. The facilities are for a campsite are nothing short of brilliant. Theres clean showers & wash areas with instant hot water.
There's a secure bike lock up, wifi & a kitchen area with a fridge/freezer & microwave.
It's very well priced, there's also a large wood cabin (basically a large wooden summer house) that you can stay in for just a couple of quid extra a night. This came in very handy towards the end of our hoilday when it started to get very cold at night & also chucked it down with rain.

The views across the farmland are stunning, watching the sunset over the distant mountains with a drink in hand was brilliant.

Overall I'd 100% stay here again & reccomend Cae Gwyn Farm to anyone looking to camp & stay in Wales close to Coed Y Brenin.

Room Tip: Ask if the wood cabin is avaliable to stay in!

Stumbled upon this campsite by accident and were delighted at the facilities, view, hot showers, dog friendliness, and the welcoming reception by Dave and Sue. Perfect after some muddy mountain biking. Superb pub up the road within walking distance, great food and ale, friendly landlord even gave us a life back to the campsite! We'll be back. Thanks for the eggs! Bex, LJ and Lily.

I arrived early to dep[osit our bags in the B&B accomodation, Sue was most helpful, and pointed out the various interesting views in the distance. Our rooms were comfortable, but the bathrooms like lots of other B&B's had the tiniest sink with shelf fixed just above it so it was almost impossible to wash your face without depositing copious amounts of water on the floor below, worse than useless. The wi-fi was available in the farmyard or near to the B&B door, who is going to stand outside with a laptop or an Ipad, the wi-fi was not available by the front door either, and as it was raining you couldn't go out into the farmyard anyway, misleading methinks.. Sue made us very welcome and provided a lovely breakfast. It was a good experience with the above exceptions.
