I visited here for the first time on the 3rd of July 2014. The weather was roughly 14degrees celcius with a north easterly Wind which would trouble the local fishmonger however as we ordered steak it didnt really bother us. The steak tasted like steak which is more than i can say about roma hamills in which i received microwaved bootleather. It was a hateful experience and the servers were all chewing gum which i found stuck underneath my plate in an attempt to hold the broken plate together. Anyway I am digressing here. Daft Eddies was a good pleasant evening with a traditional irish feel. Roma hamills however was in the pithole of Newtownards however nothing is new about it as everything is bargin buys. if i were to recommend you a restaurant it would have to be sugarcrane

This lovely scenic place with fantastic views. We had a great meal, of the 5 of us that ate there was nothing but praise for the food. The staff were excellent polite and funny. A very enjoyable evening and vreat atmosphere. No trip to Strangford lock would be complete without a visit.

Hadn't been ion years but returned with a friend from Galway expecting great things. Location and new dining areas are excellent, menu pretty good with excellent fish options. Starters v good mains decent if potions a little small and deserts v tasty. So why only an average rating... the service staff were inattentive and as the meal progressed clearly run off their feet and inexperienced. Food was slow to arrive and drinks almost impossible to get without effort. Saw several people not happy with the service or lack there off and know the manager was apologizing left right and center to customers re problems in the kitchen. Would love to go back, but not sure if it would be worth a similar experience.

Very enjoyable lunch, food was excellent - 3 courses for £17.95, lovely views of Strangford lough from the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and helpful, certainly go back.

Views are great! Smoked fish platter was lovely, as was the steak and Guiness pie. Not sure it would be quite as appealing on a wet and windy day!
