My husband and I had booked a table at Balloo House on Saturday evening, and rather than missing out of the accompanying wine and driving back to Belfast, we booked a room in the gorgeous Hunters Lodge. The property is set on lovely gardens, with a private tennis court, right on the water's edge on Strangford Lough, it really is a wonderful setting with views across the lough to the neighbouring island. Our hostess for the evening, Jenny, was very welcoming and friendlly. She very kindly offered to drive us to Balloo House to pick up our car the following day as we were unable to get a taxi in time for our dinner reservation and had to leave our car overnight in the restaurant carpark. Breakfast the following morning was delicious, fresh fruit, juices and cereals followed by a perfectly cooked Ulster Fry and topped off with fantastic home made wheaten bread. All in all, I'd highly recommend Hunters Lodge and will no doubt return. Thanks Jenny!

My bf and I stayed at Hunters Lodge B&B last year, upon arrival we were met by the B&B Owner, lovely woman and very friendly. Our accommodation was very modern and spotless. Little Bar on the landing (which you pay if you take drinks, good idea).. One thing I would have liked was the offer of a Coffee and Fresh Scones in the Garden.. or lounge.. it was a beautiful day.. and I felt that would have been a lovely gesture.. even Coffee.. on arrival! as it was around 80 pounds for one night.. They had a tennis court, but no offer of rackets etc Also we were going into the Nearby restaurant and again no offer to arrange a taxi or a lift.. these are just small things, but the accommodation was beautiful and clean..

I do regret that your visit to Hunters lodge a year ago, did not live up to your expectations. We do provide an excellent range of teas and coffee in each room. When guests arrive early in the afternoon , they are offered filter coffee with either biscuits or cake. The tennis court and garden, with its spectacular views of Strangford Lough and it's beautiful islands, are available to all,. Tennis racquets are provided to guests who show an interest in playing; the racquets are on full view in the entrance hall. We pride ourselves on our hospitality, and I am glad that you appreciated our "honesty bar" and the high standards which we maintain. Jenny.

We stayed for one night in June 2014 and were warmly welcomed by the Host, Jenny. She gave us sound advise on activities in the locality and treated us with a very personal touch...thanks for the chilled bottle of Vino on arrival!! We ate in the highly acclaimed 'Balloo House Restaurant (chef has won National and International awards including the Great British Menu and is trained to Michelin Star standard) which is just a stones-throw away from Hunters Lodge. The setting is beautiful along the shores of Strangford Lough, a perfect location for a perfect Romantic getaway!
