Have passed the door of the Bucks Head hundreds of times and never stopped - what a mistake!

Called for food on the way from Newcastle having not seen anything there we fancied.

Very welcoming friendly staff - great value bar menu till 6.30pm - the food was excellent, couldn't fault a single thing. My wife had the special of smoked haddock with mash which she said was full of flavour and I opted for the scampi which were big with a beautiful fine crispy batter. Chips were delicious.

Great atmosphere and look forward to returning some night for a full dinner. Has to be one of the best on the area.

We visited this restaurant as an early Fathers Day treat and what a treat it was. The food was excellent in every way. The staff were very friendly and attentive even though the restaurant was busy. The decor and surroundings are lovely and spotlessly clean. Will definitely be back.!!

My wife and I had lunch on the 10th June as a celebration of our first meeting. We have been to the Bucks Head before a few times. This meal and service and the ambiance has been talked about by us many times as one of the best presented and most taste full we have had in a long time including some of the upmarket restaurants on cruise ships. Well done to all the staff in what has become our favourite restaurants.

Ate here for dinner at 7pm on Saturday night. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by a member of staff who brought us to our table. The menu was fantastic with plenty of choice, wine list was one of the best I've seen, staff were very friendly and attentive. Our meal was incredible and overall my best dining experience to date.
