“Very comfortable cottage with beautiful scenery.”
Reviewed 15 March 2015 for a stay in March 2015

We had a great time. The dogs loved it. Andrew the owner was very accomodating as regards one of our party's health requirements. He was helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The whole week was an escape for us all. The weather was pretty wet and stormy so the log fire stove was used to the max, it was wonderful and brought the inner UG out in some of us. As it was so stormy and cold on 4 of our 7 days the wildlife appeared to stay indoors too!! Because of this we will have to go back! Oh dear what a shame!! The cottage was well equipt and very, very homely. We would recommend Tighnariddon cottages and we hope to go back again. All of us appreciated having instant wi-fi, can't fault the holiday.

“Wonderful Relaxing family time”
Reviewed 10 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

The cottage was modern and clean with all the makings of home from home. As described situated right on Loch side so wonderful low tide walks each morning on the deserted beach. The dog and children could run free burning off energy without the worry of disturbing other people, only wish there had been a hose to hose them all down afterwards but the mop bucket worked well! The area was extremely tranquil and extremely difficult to believe only an hour (if that) from Glasgow.
I found a car was a necessity and I should really have researched the area a bit more as feel we missed a few opportunities - the Argyle secret coast scarecrow trail, the ferry to Rothesay, a day trip on the Waverley steamer- but these are all things to think of for next time.
We went armed with board games, football, kites, sticker books and DVDs and the children (6,3 and 1) couldn't have been happier.
We took our food with us and although a Spar shop along the road which is perfect for essentials, the nearest 'big' supermarket is Dunoon.
Otter Ferry beach on a good day is worth a visit and Portavadie Marina has a great children's play area as well as shop, bar and restaurant.
A holiday with a difference, no amusement parks, no queuing or fast food restaurants but definitely an experience worth doing again. Thank you.

“Games, Islands & Golf”
Reviewed 3 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We stayed at this delightful cottage (again) to enjoy a trip to the Commonwealth Games at nearby Glasgow followed by the delights Argyll's 'Secret Coast' has to offer. The Games were magnificent and the cottage just as good as our first visit, very clean, comfortable and homely with everything one could hope for after a long day out adventuring. An added bonus this time was excellent wifi internet.

We enjoyed stunning walking all around the immediate area, caught mackerel and pollock in Loch Riddon, a bit of golf up the road in Kames and just as the guide book advised a day trip to Tobormory on Mull. Best of all Brian the Labrador had a great time as well. It being Scotland and summer we got out share of rain but we prepared for that and it made all the sunshine that much better. Butefull!

What a wonderful place for a winter escape! We loved everything about it: the lovely interior, the glorious views, the roaring fire and the peace and quiet..... It was perfect for us and we can't wait to return!

“Absolutely Brilliant”
Reviewed 23 April 2012 for a stay in April 2012

Stayed in the larger of the cottages with friends, there were 7 of us in total for 4 of the days and the cottage didn't feel cramped at all (even with the 4 dogs).
Lovely loch right outside the door that the dogs enjoyed being walked on when the tide was out, when the tide was is there were plenty of forrestry tracks where there wasn't any livestock (neighbour advised where to walk and that the only thing they could try and chase would be the deer).
Garden is secure except for the smaller of the dogs who could manage to wriggle under the gate, but only done that once.
Log burning stove was brilliant and made everyone very sleepy with the heat it produced.
Great place to stay to either chill out and do very little except walk the dogs, or would also be great to use as a base to visit the surrounding area (pucks glen is less than an hour away).
No phone signal for O2 at all, friend had a vodaphone sim card which picked up a signal no problem (O2 you had to drive up the hill towards Tighnabruiach, and it's quite a climb).
Will defo go back and would highly recommend it.
