My wife and I stayed from 23/08/2019 to 26/08/2019 in a deluxe room with balcony. First we were allocated room 340 but as the bathroom cum toilet was unusable we were shifted to room 244. The bathroom is too small and congested for both of us. The toilet is practically a cubicle with not much space both in front and on the right side, when one sits. Very uncomfortable feelings. We requested for another room but our request was turned down. Given a choice we will certainly not book this hotel for us and will strongly advise people with claustrophobia to avoid this hotel.

The hotel is in the former estate of a Chinese merchant, but fully renovated with 21st century luxury throughout. The exterior--the glistening pool, covered walkways and old balconies--harkens back to colonial times. The rooms, though, have all the modern comforts of a high-end hotel while retaining the colonial feel (like the deep, heavy wood furniture). The grounds are immaculately maintained, and feature artwork along the corridors. I was a bit disappointed with the slow check-in process, and that the hotel didn't have a cashier to exchange currency. It's also located slightly outside the main tourist area--maybe a 30 minute walk down Malioboro St, the jam-packed main thoroughfare. The hotel does have an on-site travel agent, who did an excellent job of arranging a day trip to Borobudur and Prambanan for me. Definitely I'd stay here if I return to Yogyakarta again.

Lovely hotel with excellent staff. Amenities are just what was needed: Bath salts, extras that may have not been packed, lots of water and then there were the robes and slippers.
Pool area - charming
Spa - the Foot Massage was perfect after a day of travel and walking. So I booked the Tropical Coconut Massage/scrub/bath for the next day. My skin and body are so thankful.

One thing - book Grab from hotel to airport, don’t take the Bluebird taxi as the driver went a longer way and its double/triple what Grab charges.
