Friendly staff looked after us and served up a great meal to a hungry crowd. Good bar food in great surroundings. We had to make a last minute change to the booking but that was no problem and dealt with efficiently. A good select menu packed with local produce all fresh and delicious.
There was a good buzz in the hotel with lots of laughter (not just from us). The evening was helped by the impromptu Tango dance lesson and again the staff were more than happy to set up the sound system.
A great end to a wonderful week-end with our friends.

Chef Douglas - charming and produces wonderful food to boot, simply the best Bouillabaisse we have ever enjoyed, barman Jake - a star ... We are regular patrons and will certainly continue to be. Jonny & Julia have created and they maintain a Highland gem.

We have been 3 times in the last couple of months and each time the setting, ambiance and service have been good. For quality is good, portion size is very small. I do expect more than half a grilled tomato with an £18 steak and disappointingly the chips are frozen ones. The cheeseboard us excellent. Probably best not to go for the cask ale, I don't think they sell enough of it to offer it in really good condition. I f you are hungry go elsewhere or do as we did and ask for more veg, which was provided without fuss both times we asked. All in all a lovely place which has been lovingly improved over the last few years (I used to go here back in the early '80's when it was kinda rough) but could be a really great eating spot with a few tweaks that wouldn't really affect the profitability too much

Not to be missed when in the area even with the long sail up from Tobermory with the wind from the East. Another great meal.

The restaurant was busy, but we had preordered and were quickly shown to our table. I ordered fresh prawns, which were absolutely stunning (locally caught from lake Sunart), followed by a cheese board. The staff were very patient with us and fulfilled all our requests.

Would have those prawns again, they were delicious.
