This was our first visit to Crossaig Lodge, and we were blown away by its location, comfort, food and most engaging hostess. This was the roomiest, classiest place we found on our three week visit to Scotland. The views from the windows were breathtaking, it was quiet beyond belief, and the food was delicious. Susan, the hostess, could not have been nicer. I would give this my highest recommendation.

We only stayed in the Crossaig Lodge for one night while doing the Kintyre Way, but we will hopefully be back for more at some stage. Susan picked us up, patiently answered a ton of questions and led us into a nicely decorated, spacious apartment, which provided not only a really comfortable mattress but also a shower with really good water pressure - anybody who has ever traveled in the UK will know that this is the exception rather than the rule. And if you've just walked 20 kms in really hot weather it is really appreciated. Because the B&B is quite remote, Angus cooked us an excellent and reasonably priced dinner upon his return home which we thoroughly enjoyed in a really relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We would thoroughly recommend both staying in Crossaig Lodge and trying Angus' gorgeous food.

Alan & Ros, Dunfermline - recommendation:-
We have stayed with Susan & Angus over the last ten years both at Balinakill and now twice at Crossaig Lodge. We are never disappointed with our time with them - they are always very welcoming hosts & the food is up to top class standards. Local fresh ingredients, or those sourced from the best of suppliers, ensure that each dish prepared & produced by Angus is brought to your table by Susan - meals fit for 'royalty' - and they do make you feel special.. Our smoked fish seafood starter platter will linger long in the memory.
The bedrooms are individual, very comfortable with plenty of room to relax.
Crossaig's location allows you to experience the quaint passing places single track roads of Kintyre and the surrounding areas - Skipness castle, Kilmartin Glen, Crinan canal amongst many others.
We highly recommend others to find there way to Crossaig Lodge to enjoy the 'Susan & Angus experience' and like us - keep on coming back.

Room Tip: Each room is recommended.

Stayed here for the first nights of the Kintyre Way. Amazing! Cosy bed, hot shower, and the best meal of the whole trip. Definitely recommended. Pick up and drop off service was really handy as well.

We had enjoyed booking with Angus and Susan in their old place (Balinakill Country House Hotel) since 2001 and had no qualms about 'travelling' with them to their new venture at Crossaig Lodge. If possible, the experience is even more relaxed as the owners have less guests and more time to relax and enjoy having folks round to stay. The food is always high quality, organic and local… the provenance sure shows when you sample it! You could not to better than to find yourself at a table in Crossaig awaiting the best game, fish and vegetables you will find within an hours travel!
This place is so relaxing that I am taking a few days solo next week to enjoy the scenery and learn how to use my camera whilst my wife goes abroad with her mum! Great for couples, just as good for ones!

Stayed here August Bank Holiday for our 10th Wdding anniversary treat. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, great sense of humour. Susan and Angus real characters, who obviously really enjoy running the B&B. Best beds we've ever slept in. Food was to die for. Location fantastic, with a really enjoyable walk to see the seals on the beach - walk went a little further than we planned and Susan came and picked us up when we ran out of options to get back!. Highly recommended - will be back

Some people come just for evening meals as Angus is such an excellent chef. Then there are those of us who are able to experience the "whole nine yards". Susan and Angus provide relaxed but excellent service with rooms which are comfortable (beds are very comfortable and the towels are large and fluffy). There are as well, on sunny days, great views of the Isle of Arran.

Crossaig Lodge is a little out of the way but well worth coming to for the service and rooms provided for by Susan and Angus. The b & b is excellently situated for both the Arran and Islay ferries and Susan and Angus will endeavour to ensure that you are on your way in time to catch the ferries, if you give them notice of same.

The food is to die for especially when the strawberries, raspberries, lettuce, and eggs are from Angus and Susan's garden and chickens. The venison Angus cooks has been stalked by himself so it cannot be any fresher. Other items on the menu are supplied by local producers where possible.

We are looking forward to returning at some point in the future.
