Description: Opening dates for 2016: 29th May - 30th September. Every day apart from Saturday! The Skipness Seafood Cabin is a seasonal, family run venue that prepares and sells locally sourced, fresh seafood dishes. It also provides a variety of homemade cakes and scones. The Cabin is set in the idyllic village of Skipness, which makes up for its removed, some may say isolated, location with beautiful scenery, easy walks, beaches, castles and stunning views of the Isle of Arran. The restaurant aims to provide an easy going relaxed atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable and leaves well fed and satisfied! We look forward to seeing you soon.

“Really nice cafe at Skipness Castle- good for light seafood lunch”
Reviewed 31 July 2011

We parked the car at Arran Ferry terminal at Claonaig and walked the easy level 2 mile walk along the shore to Skipness Castle. Dolphins or porpoises playing in the Kilbrannan Sound which was fun to watch
The Seafood Cabin is in the castle grounds and well worth a visit. So is castle & chapel.
We had lovely fresh crab rolls and a delicious moist orange sponge cake sitting outside in the sunshine. Lots of delicious seafood dishes on offer. Worth the trip if in Argyll even if a bit off beaten track. Only open from end of May to September though and closed on Saturdays- surprisingly!

“Unbeatable views, friendly service”
Reviewed 29 July 2011

We have been holidaying in this area for 30 years. The Seafood Cabin is now an unmissable element of our visits. Sitting outside at one of the picnic tables, or inside if it is raining (which happens occasionally in this part of the world) we have enjoyed the huge seafood platter with a nice bottle of something chilled and on other occasions mugs of coffee with delicious orange sponge cake. The thing to remember is that the cabin is closed on Saturdays.

“Another hidden gem!”
Reviewed 24 July 2011

We have eaten here on numerous occassions on our trips to West coast of Scotland. It is located adjacent to the manor house within Skipness Castle grounds. The scenery is stunning and there is outdoor and indoor seating. However, even during cooler days customers generally sit outside and enjoy the views of Loch Fyne and the Isle of Arron.
The Seafood Cabin is a cafe which serves up locally sourced seafood and the food is of excellent quality and of restaurant standard. The cafe also sells homemade cakes, coffee and is licensed.
There is a lovely castle and a coastal walk which will work up an apetite for the Seafood Cabin.
