We were lucky to have a front facing 4 poster room in the hotel for one night mid week. The hotel had at least 8 of the 10 rooms full but it didn't feel too busy.
The room was amazing, with high ceilings and beautiful white sheets on the bed. The ensuite was also sizeable with a deep and comfortable bath. For the size of the room we were surprised it kept so warm considering the cold temperatures outside. The view to the side to the Wallace monument was just perfect and reminded us where we were.
Breakfast was lovely, with cooked breakfast made to order and served by helpful staff.
The hotel is still undergoing refurbishment and has a few areas that still need attention to detail, but overall the space is lovely. Keep up the good work and it will be a polished gem soon. The reception area could do with being manned more often but that added to the small scale non commercial/ mainstream feel of the place.

Room Tip: 4 poster ensuite room was very large. Room 3.

Too many minor faults, Poor television reception. Mould around bath unacceptable. Handle on wardrobe broken. Not sure which was hot tap since top missing. Jars of coffee/tea and sugar (which was solid) instead of packets in bedroom surely not acceptable. Biscuits provided looked as if somebody had sat on them! Carpet torn and needing replaced. Nobody around when we wanted to sign out and no bell at reception.

Great room, had an upgrade to the 4 Poster after an e-mail to Ty (who turned out to be the owner) as it was my wife's birthday, great customer service from all the staff, lovely evening meal, and great breakfast before we left, will definitely be back in 2014!!!

what an amazing stay we had , Thursday 7th Nov for 1 night
we arrived late afternoon , found the hotel easily , well signposted , the only thing i would say that , a bell in the reception area would be advantageous, to do a little ding on arrival .

Gavin checked us in ,(lovely chap) and showed us to our AMAZING room on the front , with views of Wallace monument through the side window, a 4 poster bed , clean as snow , and like sleeping on air , so very clean and comfortable , even though it was soooo big lol , totally spoilt !!
for what we paid (£60) it was over whelming , the massive lovely room , the bathroom , was so nice , lovely bath , and so nice and cosy , the heating was lovely , as it was a bit of a chilly night , the large bathroom , was also lovely and warm , with the heated towel rail

we went down for breakfast at around 8.30
the menu is lovely , help yourself to juices , cereals , fresh fruit , and yoghurt's , coffee , and tea is brought fresh to your table if requested
choice of cooked breakfast , and it was very very nice in deed , no complaints at all , and lots of lovely toast
the young lady that served us was very lovely , and nothing was too much trouble for her

if we had paid £100 it would have been worth every single penny , if you pay more , then you could pick tiny faults , but we were over the moon , and left a tip
you should deff have a tip box !!!!!!
will definitely be staying again , we have no negatives at all

we didn't experience the facilities at night , meal wise , so have no comment , but the breakfast was lovely , all hot , and cooked fresh , and so i think the meals would be of the same , as the prices were very reasonable , although , i feel a few less overly stated dishes on the menu , would be a plus , say a pasta , and a chicken etc

totally felt special , and thank you for allocating us that wonderful room , much appreciated
see you again on our next visit

Room Tip: holly bush pub , 7 mins walk lovely pub grub , and lovely staff Stirling castle AMAZING !!! worth e...

We booked in for one night here for our trip up North and it was close to Stirling. We arrived not sure where to park or if we were using the correct entrance! A gentleman came into the hall to greet us and I wasn't sure if he was a guest or staff! It was rather disconcerting . The staff here were very nice, our room was clean although I do think the carpets throughout the hotel should be either replaced or cleaned. I don't think we shall stay here again for a while, although if and when they tidy the place up, then I wouldn't hesitate.

Stayed here with my wife on business last night and it was brilliant. Very reasonably price (about 65/night B&B from hotels.com)

We were given (by chance) 1 of 2 four poster rooms facing the front. Stunning room and views. The bathroom had a rolled top bath and corner shower. Beautiful mattress and Egyptian cotton crisp sheets.

Breakfast was 100%. I had the salmon and scrambled egg and Mrs L simply has scrambled egg on toast.

I would definitely come back to Scotland soon just to stay here. Thank you.

We stayed 2 nights and had a nice clean room, a little on the small side with a rubbish view across a dirty flat roof out of a dirty window. There were no chairs in the room and no room for them. The bathroom was newly refurbished and was super. We ate both nights in the hotel and the food was first rate. The breakfasts were very good with nice choices. The very few staff were very friendly and quite helpful. The bar had run out of bitter and they said the brewery had failed to deliver. I don't see why they couldn't have picked up a few bottles from a local off-license. We were told the hotel was full or we would have asked for a better room. It appears that the hotel only had 2 or 3 other couples staying on both the nights we stayed. I would only stay here again if I could get a room at the front of the hotel with views over the fields to Stirling. The lift which has been out of order since May was still not working.

Room Tip: Only go if you get a room with a view at the front of the hotel
