“New year”
Reviewed 2 January 2014

We spent New years eve and New years day at Broomhall Castle. From the minute we
we walked in we felt at home. Staff are amazing and work so hard to please you. Food
Is some of the best I have ever had, fresh home cooked food. Nothing is too much
trouble for anyone, what a team. Came away having booked our wedding for next year.

Room Tip: Bridal suite huge with four poster bed :-)

We only stayed here one night but are intending to revisit in the Spring/Summer for a longer stay.
I was a little worried that the castle would be cold and draughty but no it was wonderfully warm, especially on a very wet and cold night in December. The staff were lovely and very accommodating - the Christmas menu looked reasonably priced but as we were eating at my son's house we didn't take advantage of it. The breakfast in the morning was enormous and very good quality. I cannot recommend this enough to anyone wanting a little bit of TLC.

Room Tip: We had rooms 4 & 5 and they were large and airy.

Having stayed here for a night on a return leg journey to Aberdeen the only word I could use is wow!

Staff were very helpful and accommodating. We stayed in a family room and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever been in.

We ate our evening meal in the dining room in the castle and it was amazing.

Couldn't recommend this place enough. Would be a superb location for a wedding!

We were lucky to have a front facing 4 poster room in the hotel for one night mid week. The hotel had at least 8 of the 10 rooms full but it didn't feel too busy.
The room was amazing, with high ceilings and beautiful white sheets on the bed. The ensuite was also sizeable with a deep and comfortable bath. For the size of the room we were surprised it kept so warm considering the cold temperatures outside. The view to the side to the Wallace monument was just perfect and reminded us where we were.
Breakfast was lovely, with cooked breakfast made to order and served by helpful staff.
The hotel is still undergoing refurbishment and has a few areas that still need attention to detail, but overall the space is lovely. Keep up the good work and it will be a polished gem soon. The reception area could do with being manned more often but that added to the small scale non commercial/ mainstream feel of the place.

Room Tip: 4 poster ensuite room was very large. Room 3.

Too many minor faults, Poor television reception. Mould around bath unacceptable. Handle on wardrobe broken. Not sure which was hot tap since top missing. Jars of coffee/tea and sugar (which was solid) instead of packets in bedroom surely not acceptable. Biscuits provided looked as if somebody had sat on them! Carpet torn and needing replaced. Nobody around when we wanted to sign out and no bell at reception.

Great room, had an upgrade to the 4 Poster after an e-mail to Ty (who turned out to be the owner) as it was my wife's birthday, great customer service from all the staff, lovely evening meal, and great breakfast before we left, will definitely be back in 2014!!!
