“Opening Hours”
Reviewed 28 June 2014

Very sad that Dalry, right on the tourist route, had nowhere to have a cup of tea at 11am today.

The Lochinvar, as ever, closed, the Clachan closed, the shop and garage not doing food/drinks either.

Does the region actually want to cater for tourists?

The Clachan used to have more user friendly opening hours - does no one want a drink before noon these days?

We feel that your views are probably not appropriate for this website as it is a general comment re services provided in the village.

The Clachan Inn is currently the only establishment locally that is open all day and everyday during the year including the winter months. Our opening hours (in line with our licence) are 12-11 pm and we provide a full restaurant service between 12-2pm and 6-9pm.

The Inn is well used by both locals and tourists and it is gaining an excellent reputation for its food and real ales - recently being voted the 3rd best pub in Dumfries and Galloway by CAMRA members.

We hope that you will visit the Inn next time you are in the area to sample the services we offer.

The food here was lovely, and the pub is in a great setting. I had a large group that I booked for, and they were very accommodating, with plenty of space for us to eat. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly. The prices are also not too expensive either compared with some places in the area, and for the quality you receive, it is well worth it!

consistently good food, nice staff and atmosphere, visited 3 times over a week's holiday. Child meals also of good quality and size. Meals are a good size, not particularly cheap (about £11 average for a main course) but definately worth it for the quality.

This was our second visit to the Clachan Inn following an enjoyable stay over the xmas period. Staff are always very welcoming and friendly creating an excellent atmosphere in the lounge and resturant areas. The food is delicious - I can highly recommend the duck breast and crab linguine. Need to visit again soon to sample the rest of the spring menu :-) The young couple who are currently running the Inn are doing a fab job - keep up the great work!

Just had one of the best meals ever. The pigs cheeks were succulent and excellent. The seabass was perfect. But the haggis scotch egg to start was a revelation. Service attentive and friendly. Very welcoming local pub, with the best restaurant standard food at pub food prices. Keep up the good work.

I had a brief stopover stay in Wick at the very friendly Clachan. Service 1st class and rooms were of very high standard and spotless. I would certainly stay there again should I be in the area. Elspeth, hostess/owner, was very warming and made me feel very welcome. Highly recommended!
