Having not stayed in many B&B's before I can honestly say I was very impressed. A beautiful spot for a quiet, romantic weekend away. We'll be back!
We stayed in room 3 right before the Memorial Day weekend rush. The owners and their daughter were super friendly and made sure our stay at the Kingfish Inn was superb.
Our room was very large; it had lots of windows with views of the waterfront. The room also had a gas fireplace to the left of the feathertop king bed; which really helped warm us up after being chilled from a full day of whale watching. For breakfast, the chef (and co-owner), Bob, made the best omelet I have ever tasted. After breakfast, Bob gave us recommendations on what to visit on the island, and other restaurants to try for dinner.
I'll definitely recommend this B&B anytime one of my friends visits Orcas Island.
What great rooms at the Kingfish! Have stayed severaltimes. Drop your bags in the room and relax!Downstairs in the cafe you will not be dissapointed withany of your menu choices...and I love being tough on resturants.
Wow! Comfortable, spacious rooms, excellent, generous breakfasts, combine this with beautiful views and you have the recipe for a great stay --which we definitely had! Room 4 is fantastic for families. The owners are very personable and make you feel welcome. The restaurant also serves a great dinner and lunch menu which tempted us to dine there multiple times. It is obviously popular with the locals. Would highly recommend.
Our sale boat broke down off of Eastsound Orcas Island. We managed to sail it into the marina. Our plan was to spend the night on the boat, but when I saw the conditions of the bathrooms at the marina, I freaked out. My husband took me on a walk down the road to cool my temper down, when we spotted the Kingfish Inn. It was perfect. We called and the owner drove down, and rented us room number 4. The bed was big and comfy, the view was nice, and best of all it had a nice big, clean bathroom! The next morning, we were in a hurry to get to the ferry. The taxi service didn't have time to get us, and we were in a total jam. No problem - the owner drove us down between baking batches of muffins.
And, he did a very tasty speedy breakfast for us too. The experience was fantastic, and I would reccomend this inn to anyone.
O.K., I haven't stayed here so I cannot comment on the B&B accomodations, but if you really want a world-class cheeseburger that belongs in some sort of top national ranking of cheeseburgers, you will find it here at this charming little inn tucked away at the water's edge of Orcas Island. Am I out-of-bounds for giving such a review for a cheeseburger ? I think not, given the competition these days, and the fact that nearly every hotel, even the high-end ones, has now trotted out their own version of the once lowly burger in order to generate some buzz. These hotels believe that their burgers are indicative of the quality of the establishments within, as do I. But the difference at the Kingfish is that their cheeseburger is not cute, trendy, mixed with Fois Gras, or $15. It is simply classic, hand-made, and delicious. The rest of their food is good too.
