“Beautifull,amazing holiday”
Reviewed 30 March 2014 via mobile

My partner and I stayed for 10 days on this beautifull island for my 50th birthday. From start to finish we had the most amazing time ever!! Seaplane transfer was awesome experience, had to wait 2 hours but wasn't an issue. O villa was beautifull, had an amazing unrestricted view of the ocean. O villa restaurant and bar had the most amazing staff( but each and everyone of the staff are very polite and friendly). Shareef our waiter was a true gentleman and a delight, Sohal in the bar was lovely, who attended to us round the pool and the chef too, the staff here are amazing people. We visited the spa a couple of times and the ladies were lovely. A little expensive but worth the luxury. My partner played golf quite afew times and enjoyed the banter with the staff there. Visited the Beach restaurant for my birthday, absolutely delicous food!! Went snorkeling most days and saw an abundance of fish and the turtles!! Visited all the different bars at night, enjoyed the entertainment and met loads of other guests.
I can see why people return to this island as it is just beautifull. We couldn't fault anything, it was the most amazing holiday and I had a birthday I will never ever forget!!
Kuredu will always have a special place in our hearts and we will return, hopefully in the near future! Thank you Ken and all you're staff for a holiday to remember.

We (party of 6 adults) had a perfect holiday on Kuredu. We stayed in Jacuzzi Beach Villas on Koamas side of the Island, beach there is at it's widest and had lots of lovely shade underneath the palms and tree,s when required in the heat of the day. Beach kept spotless by the ladies who work tirelessly sweeping it plus the men who net the seaweed from the shoreline to keep it all looking beautiful. House reef is not the best I,ve swam on in the Maldives coral wise, reef and seagrass is abundant with the most spectacular sea-life, fish all shapes and sizes and amazing colours, huge turtles, rays and sharks (baby's and a few parents).
Accommodation was adequate , well presented and kept spotlessly clean by our room boy who was lovely, sorry didn't get his name we where in 227 so well done that man !! Adam was our waiter in Koamas restaurant and he was an absoloute star what a lovely gentleman it was a pleasure to see his smiley face everyday. Food for breakfast was brilliant all the usual choices, lunch great choice and varied, themed nights in the evening , Mexican, Chinese , Western, being honest plenty of choice but I do like to be served at the table in the evenings, we went to Franco,s and the Beach a few nights, expensive but worth it food at The Beach gorgeous. Tip there is a dine around the island option for $120 pp it's worth it if you want to use the al a carte restraunts. We thought the O Resort had the nicest dining area and the ambience was really lovely, if it's not your allocated restaurant on AI book to go there one night it's lovely.
I used the Spa over the water twice and loved it , lovely staff very professional I indulged in an Indian Head Massage with Neck and shoulders and I also had a Hot Stone back massage which was Fab.
We used the Ocean Watersports Centre for a trip out to see the Manta,s Martyn was our guide and whilst we didn't see Manta,s that day we snorkelled Komandoo house reef which was great and we had fun on the speedboat . Pro-divers also do snorkelling trips we booked on two and where lucky enough to have Bianca as our guide she was brilliant very professional we did caves and reef safari both great trips. Our best day was spent on the Britt Sailing Boat, staff where fantastic and we snorkelled with 8 Manta,s, a day none of us will ever forget, snorkelled a few reefs too which all were worth getting wet for.
So all n all a fantastic, chillaxing, great holiday, the staff make it that way , will I ever go back ? Doubt it as it's a big wide world out there, would I recomend you to go? Hell yeah !!!!

One and only negative I have is the time for the seaplane transfers is not good, 3 hours wait on arrival and yes your in the Kuredu air conditioned lounge but it's still a long time after a 10 hour flight and on the return we had a 5 hour wait at Male not how you want a beautiful holiday to end. I know it's a view many have.

Hope you enjoyed my review.

Dear Mark & Karen,
Thank you for posting a review of your recent stay at Kuredu Island Resort & Spa.
I am delighted that you took advantage of our wonderful a la carte restaurants that represent great value for money and a very pleasant contrast from the exceptional buffets that our Kitchen Brigade produce.
On behalf of Koamas Waiter, Adam, thank you for the recognition.
Thank you also for the words of praise for Martyn from Ocean Watersports and Bianca from Prodivers as well as the lovely Duniye Spa ladies.
Unfortunately, there can be occasional long waits for the sea planes on arrival due to the need to fill all the seats. It is always advisable if possible to book a daytime return international flight in order to avoid any long waits at the airport when departing, as the sea planes only operate during the daylight hours.
Thank you for the recommendation that you will give to others to book a tropical dream vacation at Kuredu.

Regards,
Ken Flockhart,
General Manager.

Our expectations were high, this was our first time to the Maldives and everything we had heard was good and we were not disappointed. From the moment we stepped off the plane in Male we had a smooth experience through passport control, customs, onto a short bus journey and into an air-conditioned private lounge where we waited for our sea plane. Stepping off onto Kuredu, was like stepping into another world. Maybe we were ever so slightly jet-lagged, but I think we were just so overwhelmed by the welcome we received, it was soooo good. We had a short welcome meeting with lovely iced tea and then were shown to our lovely jacuzzi beach villa and we spent a truly idyllic week on Kuredu. All of the staff were so friendly, helpful and could not possibly do more for you and especially Bobin and Rona. The food was excellent. The island was beautiful and surprisingly had lots to do if you wanted to do lots, or little if you just wanted to chill out. We never felt there were hundreds of people on the island even though there were and over 400 rooms and to us it was paradise. We would thoroughly recommend Kuredu and we are already booked for next year.

Room Tip: We loved our Jacuzzi beach villa, really don't think you could fault any rooms on this island, w...

Dear Deb & Mel,
Thank you for posting such a lovely review of your first visit to the Maldives.
As you say, despite Kuredu being a large island, you never felt like there were so many guests sharing this beautiful piece of paradise with you. The beauty of Kuredu is that there are many tranquil areas scattered around the island to enjoy at your leisure.
Bobin in the Bars and Koamas Head Waiter, Rona will be delighted with the mention they receive in your review.
We are very pleased to learn that you have already booked for next year.
See you then.

My wife and I have just returned from Kuredu on Friday 28th March and had one of the best holidays ever!
We had trepidations prior to our off over the size of the island as our last visit was to a very small exclusive resort but on arrival we couldn't have been more pleased, yes it is a small village type atmosphere but had you forgotten anything at all you could certainly buy it here, yes it would be slightly pricier than at home but hey you aint at Butlins!
Two things in particular made this holiday great, the 1st were the staff and I would like to name but a few, in the bars: Lali, Ban, Bobin, Shan, Jay, Kris, in the Restaurant: Ali our waiter and Chat on the freshly cooked hot counter and every other un named member of staff were absolutely fabulous, nothing was to much trouble and done with a genuine smile, the 2nd thing for us was the diving, we've been pretty much all over the world diving including Egypt and this is the best diving and dive resort we have ever seen, once again organised like a machine but nothing again was to much trouble, there are 2 staff in particular who we felt were the best dive guides and these were Alex and Elodie, they were the most knowledgeable pair we ever ever dived with, having said this every member of the pPro Divers organisation were awesome, yes the price is up there but well worth it.
There is a very small criticism and thats regarding the band system, when booking it appeared quite confusing what was on offer for your money so I can only comment on what we went for and this was, A Beach Bungalow on a basic package, this I can honestly say saved approx £800 on a gold upgrade, this upgrade is never worth the money as there is more drink available than you can imagine and the food in your allocated restaurant is fabulous, yes it is a large restaurant but still retains a cosy feel, whilst on the subject of the food this is of a standard much higher than some of the much more expensive resorts we've stayed in, quality and variety was 1st class, not that it ever would happen but if there was nothing you liked on offer just ask a chef and if at all possible they would sort another dish out for you, the quality and cleanliness of the food halls was top notch, sanitizer gels on offer at every restaurant entrance this was also carried over to your personal bathroom and every toilet in the resort, a reassuring touch to the high standard of hygiene found here.
I could go on all day but all in all if your are looking to go on a dream holiday to the Maldives with a budget then look no further this place is it, dream beaches and stunning blue water, we loved it so much we are already planning to return with friends hopefully next year.
Well done to all the staff from the ladies that are up at the crack of dawn to make sure your foot paths are swept to the bar, diving and boat captains and management you are all part of the best holiday ever!

Flew to Kuredu for my Honey moon Trip.It is really the isle of all dreams. The view of Kuredu from the air is truly breathtaking, and as you travel across
the spectacular resort you will soon understand why it is the main area of attraction for most of the visitors.Warm welcom by the Kuredu Resort staffs.
It's Jacuzi Beach villas that offer a magical oneness with this extraordinary environment. The rooms were extremly neat and clean. The reosrts staffs were cordial.
The multicousine dining facility.D resort offers a multitude of activities and excursions, one of the most popular being the Manta Ray snorkelling
where from chest-deep water you will snorkel wid the huge and gracefull Manta rays. It's a lot of fun and totally safe.
Overall the Perfect white-sand beach gives way to emerald waters where impossibly colored fish animate the coral gardens.
The place is absolutely heaven & the stay was amazing .
Thinking of Visitting kuredu again.

Dear Gulshan,
Thank you for the nice short review of your recent Honeymoon vacation at Kuredu and for posting some photographs.
It is worth pointing out for readers that the aerial photo of an island appears to be a local uninhabited island rather than Kuredu.
It sounds like you had a memorable experienc snorkelling with Manta Rays.
We hope to welcome you back again one day.

Well, Kuredu is one of the worlds true tropical paradises and yes, we enjoyed our stay. Staff is abundant, helpful and friendly. Weather and sea is perfect. Food is good and varied. The Villa was just fine.

Was it worth it? Well, as you know you will have to weigh the costs of going (and staying) there. We had the All Inclusive package which is very convenient related to all meals and drinks. The sunset cruise is also worthwhile. When it comes to free (or included services) related to seasport, spa, golf etc they are restricted in time and quality and serves more like selling platforms for further services. For example, the free windsurfing instrucitons are on Sundays only, not very helpful when that may be your day of arrival/ departure. And you will be provided only of their most basic equipment unless you pay extra.

We had an 'O' Villa on the Northern side of the island. The sea was very shallow inside the barrier there and we ended up taking a walk to the other side of the island when we wanted to take a swim. Is this just plain alright?

Everything you need to buy is very expensive. Stay clear of the minibar. Bring your own snorkeling gear, swim gear etc. unless you are prepared to pay f.ex. $75 for a pair of swim fins. All trips, excursions and instructions do have first world prices.

The seaplane trip is 40 mins only, but they do not correspond well with other airlines. Even though we managed to negotiate a departure in the afternoon we were left with a good 6hrs wait for our next plane. Not convenient when you are travelling with three kids.

These were a few critical comments or rather precautions. We had a wonderful time there and loved the place. It compares well with other locations such as Malaysia and Bali.

Dear GoneForeverHappy,
Thank you for your honest review of your stay at Kuredu Island Resort & Spa.
Whilst it would appear that on the whole you enjoyed your vacation, clearly you have departed feeling that you may not have had excellent value for money.
I would like to respond to one or two of your comments in order to clarify any questions that readers and future guests to Kuredu may have.
Since 1st January, 2014 we have included most soft drinks and beer from the mini bar in the All Inclusive package, yet our room rates have not increased.
To purchase snorkel equipment in our Gift Shop will of course cost more than similar equipment would do at home. This I am sure is understandable given the costs of import duty and freight on shipments to the Maldives. The daily rental fee for snorkel equipment is a very modest $9 per set per day.
The sea plane schedule only operates during daylight hours. On the day of departure, for those guests travelling on a night time flight, there will inevitably be some time spent at the airport before international flights depart. To reduce waiting times it is advisable to book daytime international departures wherever possible.
Thank you for your constructive feedback which is very much appreciated.

Regards,
Ken Flockhart,
General Manager.
