“The best place to come home to each night after Peak adventures”
Reviewed 1 March 2014 for a stay in February 2014

I stayed here with 7 friends in February 2014, and we all fell in love with the cottage. The layout is just amazing. When we first came in through the door we spent ages looking around and cooing and checking out all the rooms. With the large kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms on the lower ground floor, and living room, another bathroom and two more bedrooms on the upper floor, the cottage is perfectly divided up so that people can spend time all together in the communal areas, or apart, and no one is either disturbed or left out at any point if they don't want to be.

The grand entrance hall with staircases up and down was a particular delight, with it's double level huge window, piano, and super soft carpet.

The kitchen with it's big table is perfect for shared dinners and leisurely breakfasts, and was well equipped for all kinds of cooking. The living room is cosy and comfortable, light and bright during the day and warm and snuggly in the evenings.

All the bedrooms were super comfortable, and no one felt like they'd got a 'bad deal' as they were all equally well presented and nice to be in. Having two bathrooms was clearly useful and important for a holiday cottage sleeping 8, and it was nice to have both a bath and shower option.

The cottage came with everything we could have needed in terms of towels, starter loo roll, and having a dishwasher was a delight! Plus when we arrived there was a basket full of fresh eggs from the farm, which was a really lovely gesture.

Also, the cottage is one of the few I'd been able to find which is within fairly easy walking distance of a train station, but still feels rural and out of the way. Great if you don't have access to cars! (But you do need to be able to carry your luggage for a mile or so along some slightly muddy footpaths)
Plus, they welcome dogs, which was great for us, as we had three dog friends in our company.

My only complaint would be the incredibly slow/intermittant wifi, but I suppose it was probably good for us all to disconnect for a few days and interact with each other with our faces instead of our phones :)
