Clean sheets and good breakfast, what else do you expect for the money ! Would stay again. There's a pub opposite but I didn't find it particularly troublesome, and there is a choice of takeaways nearby.

Stopped here on a cycle trip up the coast with 14 others. Had the place booked to ourselves. Owners very helpful. Place is clean and tidy. Rooms small and en suite was tiny. Shower worked well and was needed after 2 hours out in the rain. Owners extremely helpful with bike storage and cleaning off mud. Would not choose this as a place to stay for a long period.

Stayed here on the first night of the Newcastle to Edinburgh cycle trip and they were very cheery over the phone and when first greeted. They do have great storage for bikes, which is the locked outside toilet!

We had a twin room, which was clean enough, if not a little pokey. Facilities were fine and We had nice biscuits. Shower was average and a slight whiff from the bathroom, but nothing to bad.

Great night sleep, with a lovely duvet.

Breakfast was good and filling, but the stained clothing from all the family is a little off putting, and they look a little shabby, but polite nonetheless.

Having said that £30 each was ok, maybe a little heavy.

I would travel further north next time though as there is very little to do in Amble.

Owners seem to be trying very hard to make this somewhat run-down accommodation into a 'hotel'. Some nice touches with fresh supplies in the room each day, however, the room I had was a little shabby with the shower room definitely in need of some TLC - a bit grubby. Very noisy. I thought the racket was from the pub over the road but it was the owners' tv. I did comment as I was leaving and received an apology and told I should have spoken to them about it earlier. I suppose I should've done but it took me until the second night to appreciate where the noise was coming from and I was in bed by that time. I think the value for money accommodation was OK and certainly not the worst I've stayed in, where else can you stay for £30 a night and receive a very good breakfast in the pleasant dining room. The dirty T-shirts have been mentioned and I echo this. View over the car park - well I guess it was better than a front view which was over the road to the pub. Tidy up the reception area, clean down the tiles in the bathroom and pay attention to detail in the cleaning and this would be a nicer place to stay. Very nice owners. Overall opinion: Tired.

Room tip: A room in Alnwick or Warkworth would be better perhaps!

Stayed Wed in a clean twin ensuite room, had a comfortable night sleep and enjoyed a lovely breakfast. Caroline, the host was helpful and welcoming. Stayed mid week so no noise from pubs over road. Good pub grub at the Wellwood further in town. Nice touch of binoculars on landing to look out over harbour.
