“Superb addition to Amble food scene”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

As longstanding champions of the nearby Boat House it was with a degree of trepidation that we veered from our old faithful, but well worth it.
Having booked for 5.30pm on a Saturday for four adults and two babies, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful in setting us up with our table, even making sure the kids meals came out before our starters (at our request).
In fairness the kids' pasta smelt delicious and I could have happily munched away on that, but our food was worth the brief wait.
Lots of options on the specials board as well as the regular menu, and all looked lovely.
At time of ordering I felt £10 for scallop starter might be a little steep, but when it turned up I realised how many scallops you got, which made it decent value for money (most starters were cheaper, I should stress).
For mains I had tuna loin with wasabe spinach and pak-choi - absolutely delicious, and not a flavour combo I have ever had before. It was top class, I was virtually licking the plate it was that good.
Similar stories from everyone round the table; menu a great mix of seafood and steaks.
Main courses were around the £15-£20 mark, which seemed fair value for the quality.
We still love the Old Boat House and will definitely be back there, but it now has some serious competition.

Lovely brunch this morning - crab cakes with poached eggs and hollandaise. Delicious! Will definitely be back.

“Beautiful food in Amble”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

We've visited Sea Salt a few times now and absolutely love it! The Chicken Caesar salad is outstanding and the Gambas pil pil the best I've eaten. The décor is modern and clean and fresh and the menu interesting with lots of fresh fish as well as plenty to appeal to meat eaters. Despite only being open a few months it's very busy and so booking on evenings is essential or we love popping along for lunch. The young couple who own the business are working really hard and it is sure to be a success and a real addition to Amble eateries. We'll certainly be sending guests from our B and B in Warkworth along. Thanks for a great lunch today.

“Another great meal”
Reviewed 17 August 2014 via mobile

Simply perfection! Chicken supreme with tempura vegetables & husband had "the perfect burger". Grandchildren's meals also spot on - a proper mini burger & homemade fish fingers. All served with the best chips ever.
Lovely friendly service. Even on a busy Sunday lunchtime, chef (& owner) had time to check we were all happy with our meal!
