Great hotel with great landscaped grounds. Superb room located in Chestnut Lodge. Had a great evening meal and breakfast was good also. However, the best thing about this hotel is the staff. Always smiling and happy to assist in whatever way they can. I was a little disappointed with one sullen face and that was the young girl at breakfast, a smile and a good morning would go a long way, learn from your colleagues.

I stayed at West Lodge Park Hotel a few weeks ago for a weekend break and I have to say this was the best hotel I ever satyed in my life. Since the time of booking ( trough telephone ) until my departure it was all very nice. I received a very warm welcome from the reception team and they booked me as well a table in the restaurant for that evening. As we were not from the area, I asked for some local information and was given a lot of different things to see. The room was bright and clean. We were offered a help with our luggage! What a treat! After unpacking we went for a walk in the grounds, as the weather was good and it was lovely. It is so relaxing and peaceful. When evening arrived, we went for dinner. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very cosy and everyone help us with our requests. Food was superb! Specially the sticky toffee puding!
We had a great night sleep and the bed was very comfortable. Lovely duvets. There was wide range of things to choose from breakfast, we had the full english and was delicious. Our second day we went into London, as adivised by the reception team and we saw a lot of the most famous atractions, like the Tower of London, and many others. After a full day walking around we returned to West Lodge Park to rest and just had a snack from the bar menu, enjoyed that. Next morning before leaving went again for a walk in the garden and ckecked out.
For sure we will return to visit this lovely place and staff.
Thank you for a beautiful weekend!

Would certainly recommend to friends and family. Fantastic staff and relaxed but pofessional otmosphere. Food was amazing. We were attending a family function and to say the least the entire experience was superb. A lovely family owned hotel.

P.S we were only booked for one night but enjoyed it so much we decided to stay for the weekend.

Me and my partner were going to an event in London and we booked in to stay at The West Lodge Park.

As soon as arriving at the hotel, we were welcomed and treated like royalty! Every need was met and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. They were all professional and every so friendly.

The food in the restaurant was stunning, and abosolutly delicious.

The room was gorgeous, in Chestnut Lodge, had its own patio which was nice as this felt so private. We had a magnificent nights sleep as the room was so quiet.

Over all the stay was wonderful , and we will definatley be back sometime soon!

I went down for breakfast and couldn't fathom out why the dining room was empty - had I got the time wrong ? Nope, it transpires that they charge a whopping £16 for a cooked English breakfast. It wasn't that good, and if they expect me to return, I'd suggest they drop the price, stop using Swissnet for the in-house internet (another £12 rip-off) and improve the mattresses (travelodge standard).
Apart from that, the staff were nice and the place is well kept.

I am very sorry that our guest felt that £16 for a cooked breakfast is over the top, that the internet system is out of date and that the beds are of Travelodge standard.

I will address all 3 issues.

1. We pride ourselves on providing the best breakfast possible with free range eggs, hand cooked to order in front of you, a huge selection of hot and cold food, unlimited freshly squeezed orange juice, mineral water, endless refills of tea and coffee, such that a full breakfast at West Lodge Park truly sets one up for the whole day ahead.

In addition our breakfast prices are far better value than in hotels in Central London, and having done a check of similar hotels in Hertfordshire, we remain very competitive.

We have just had a successful AA inspection of the hotel and one the comments made by the inspector was how superb the breakfast offering is, well above 4 star standard.

2. Our trip advisor readers will be glad that the Swisscom paid for wifi internet system will be out by December 09 replaced with a completely free wifi system. In the meantime, we have free wired broadband available in conference rooms which our guests are more than welcome to use.

3. We specify Hypnos pocket sprung beds at West Lodge Park. They are the most comfortable beds in the world and are used by none other than Her Majesty the Queen. They are assuredly a huge increase in quality over the thin Travelodge beds.

The bed replacement programme at West Lodge Park is very advanced, with four more beds delivered last week, another 3 coming at the start of December, and not many more rooms to go now. Please specify a Hypnos pocket sprung bed on booking as a special request and it will be reserved for you.

Thank you for taking the time to read this response to the review of the hotel and it would be great to see you at West Lodge Park.

Kind regards,

Andrew Beale

West Lodge Park markets itself as a country retreat and certainly we found it hard to credit that it is just outside Cockfosters and a few hundred yards from the M25. It is also at pains to point out that it is not a chain hotel and the staff are all very pleasant, polite, generally efficient and appear to be trying to ensure a happy stay. It offers a variety of special tariffs and at weekends you can often get a very good deal, although take care when checking in that the reception staff are aware what tariff you have booked - they tried to charge us for breakfast although it was included in the deal.

Bedrooms are spacious and well decorated and our bed was exceptionally comfortable. Somebody on the management should check that cleaners know you are supposed to vacuum under chairs but on the whole everything was very clean.

Choice at breakfast was wide and the serving staff worked very hard. You get to cook your own toast on a rotating conveyor belt, which is infinitely preferable to the usual cold rack. We did not have dinner, but the menu looked very interesting.and the dining room attractive

The grounds are very beautiful and contribute enormously to the relaxing ambience, although we did not take up the offer to take the waterlogged rowing boat out on the postage sized pond.

If you are without car, the bus stops just outside or there is a pleasant walk from Hadley Wood Station
