“Good Beer, Good Food”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

The Old Smugglers Inn was the most convenient place to our B&B to eat. The pub side features a bar made from the prow of an old boat. Unique to say the least. The owners are friendly, helpful and good humored.

The real ale is great. So is the fresh seafood. We stopped in here twice.

“Beer Garden needs TLC”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

We stopped here for a drink after a walk around Balcary Bay. We sat outside as it was a lovely warm day. The beer garden has massive potential if some money and TLC was spent on it. Its right next to a beck/brook. But most of the benches are worn out or broke, some are so broke they cant be sat at. The grass needs a good cut and the plants and borders a thorough tidy up. It could be a very pleasant place to sit.

Inside the bar is small but well stocked and they serve a nice pint of beer. The service was friendly and quick.

We didn't eat so can't comment on the food.
