“Home from home feeling”

Absolutely loved our stay here. Such a relaxing atmosphere surrounded by wildlife. The house was very well equipped, very clean and Janet was very thoughtful adding touches of home made cake and a handy box for our dog. She even made a personal visit to see if everything was ok. The little touches were appreciated. Just stunning house. We will be back again definitely

“Perfect Break”
Reviewed 7 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

What a fantastic place to stay. The farmhouse is without doubt one of the best places I have stayed in for a very longtime. On arrival we discovered a homemade cake in the kitchen along with some mini chocolate easter eggs, a very unique and much appreciated welcome. The farmhouse itself is amazing with a lovely rustic yet modern feel to it, very well equipped with no need to bring anything with you apart from your own groceries. The best room without doubt is the sun room which has fantastic views out to the bay and is lovely and warm sun out and sun in thanks to the wood stove. The location itself is spot on and within walking distance to the beach. Best of all it is pet friendly. Thoroughly recommended and our family will be going back in the future.

“The perfect setting for a relaxing holiday”
Reviewed 14 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We arrived at Kirkbride and were immediately greeted with a beautiful lemon sponge cake and all we needed for tea and coffee, very welcome after travelling. The house was very well equipped and we felt at home almost immediately. The surrounding country side and view over Wigton Bay were fantastic. Janet called later and we again were made very welcome. She defiantly goes the 'extra mile ' for her quests. We had a very relaxing holiday and found some very good places to eat out, (and one that wasn't so good)! We would certainly would have no hesitation in going back to Kirkbride Farm.

“Warm, comfortable cottage with wonderful sea views”
Reviewed 25 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Cottage had three en-suite bedrooms and one separate toilet. Owner Janet was very welcoming and left a home baked cake for us. The property was well equipped and had a small box of items for dog use. The weather did not quite permit sitting out, but there was a nice seating area and garden which could be enclosed for children if required. The cottage has two sitting areas, each with log burner. My favourite was the sun lounge with wonderful views out to sea. Towels and linens were of good quality and the fridge was a good size.
The property is very close to the Galloway Forest Park and Kirroughtree Visitor Centre - popular with walkers, cyclists and stargazers (it is a designated 'dark sky' area). The Galloway Coastal Path follows the coast around the area. My husband and friends walked one of the Forest Park Paths and another circular path at Brighouse Bay? It is only a short drive to Creetown, and Newton Stewart, with Wigtown and Kirkudbright less than half an hour away.
Everyone in our party enjoyed their stay and would happily return in future.

“Brilliant position, brilliant architecture, just brilliant Drummore Cottage.”
Reviewed 24 October 2015 for a stay in June 2015

The location, the thoughtful design features and the standard of luxury and of this 5* rated new holiday home, Drummore Cottage, cannot be bettered. It is extremely well equipped, all rooms are spacious, beautifully furnished and a pleasure to relax in after a day out in the surrounding superb scenery. Indeed, there are different sea-scapes from almost every room in the house.. The very genuine warm welcome from owner ,Alison Caughie, set the high standard of hospitality that permeated our whole delightful stay.

“Perfect holiday house”
Reviewed 1 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

This was our second stay (we stayed for a weekend in Oct/Nov) and we couldn't wait to come back. Our boys aged 2 and 4 love the house and garden. Its a great location, peaceful and quiet but only a short drive from Creetown and Gatehouse of Fleet. The house is spotless and comfortable and the views from the sunroom are spectacular. We spent time counting rabbits and spotting the cows and sheep in the adjoining fields.
Janet is so welcoming and the cake you find on arrival is delicious.
Hoping to book again soon as there are still so many places we want to visit in the area.
