Hadn't stayed in Ardrossan before, and needed somewhere to stay for a day trip to Arran. Very convenient for ferry - can see the terminal from the front of the house - 5 mins by bike. Excellent hospitality and great breakfast. Very friendly hostess.

Just returned from a one night stay with my husband and grandson, the accommodation was first class, we had two bedrooms (a double and a single) and our own bathroom it was like a suite. The sea view was amazing. The breakfast was very nice and nothing was too much trouble. The owners were on holiday but we were well looked after by their friends. The only downside is lack of local knowledge, we live in County Durham and had found on the internet that a highland games was being held in Ardrossan but no-one seemed to able to help us with information about this or where is was being held. I had to contact my son so that he could look it up for me on the internet. But apart from that it was a very enjoyable weekend and the lovely hot weather certainly helped. I would definitely come again.

Room Tip: The room with the seaview - I think it was called the Arran.

I had put 2pm arrival on the Private House Stays booking so called by at 11 am to say I would be arriving later than that. Three cars in the drive so clearly people at home but five minutes of knocking and ringing ship's bell and hearing voices inside, got no-one. Back at 6 pm and two cars on the drive, then became 15 minutes of ringing the ship's bell very loudly, knocking on the door loudly, ringing the outside bells (don't work), knocking on the dining room windows loudly, ringing the landline (not the owner's fault but landline was down), ringing the mobile number (battery was failed) and left a message on the mobile saying "I am at the front door trying to get in." Gates to back accommodation appeared to be locked. Eventually got a dog to bark. Owner very apologetic and was a truly lovely and very helpful lady, but if it is known the landline is down then it is clearly urgent to have a bell-push which works, a ship's bell which can be heard or a mobile phone working. Room was fine, overlooked a tatty back yard. Breakfast very nice. Easy to find the address. Parking on side road was easy. 15 minutes walk or few minutes drive to Italian restaurant Cecchini's, to Asda fuel station, Asda cafe and toilets, car ferry.

Great to break the journey up. Came off the isle on Monday to stay overnight before flying back from Glasgow on Tuesday morning. Lovely rooms.

Quaint little guest house overlooking the harbour at Ardrossan. Clean and comfortable rooms. The room we stayed in overlooked the harbour. Great views over to Arran. Short walk into Ardrossan. Friendly staff with 2 lovely dogs and a delicious home cooked breakfast.

We had a very good weekend stay with Roseanne and Kevin and we could not fault their hospitality. Roseanne is a warm hearted hostess and the house is clean and attractive with great views of the sea and the Isle of Arran. New thick pile tartan carpet runs from the hall to the top of the stairs and into the Skye room where I had a comfortable sleep in the four poster bed. Hopped over to Arran for the day - easy walk to the ferry and local shops and restaurants.
Hope to stay with Roseanne again!

Room Tip: Skye room is quiet and the Arran room has the best views.
