We were guests at a wedding here and the wedding was brilliant thanks to the bride and groom and went without a hitch and the venue and setting were excellent. To balance this although others probably did not have our experience but we stayed in one of the lodge rooms which were very basic and not conducive to getting changed and made up for a wedding. The lighting in the room was dim the bathroom over mirror light did not work the toilet seat fell off as soon as it was lifted and stayed off for our stay and the shower only had one temperature and was too small. The room had no curtains on the windows. The light and toilet seat despite notifying the duty manager stayed broken and unattended. Drink prices in the bar are massively overpriced £9 for a glass of Rose' wine.

Room Tip: I do not know if they have a good lodge room?

Had a lovely afternoon tea here as part of it is on deal. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the hotel is in a beautiful location.

The open fire was lovely and warm on a brisk autumn day. Afternoon tea was delicious with a nice selection of scones, muffins, pastry, sandwiches and shortbread. The mini cups of soup were a lovely addition. The afternoon tea room was very quaint and a unique atmosphere.

Would recommend a visit here. Lovely!

My wife and i got married at Carberry tower in October and overall everything went perfectly to Plan. We had guests from many different countries and they were all complimentary about the venue and the staff. The General manager John, and the duty manager Stuart were both exceptional in their professionalism throught the day. It is a stunning venue with a lot of historical character but is modernised to a very high standard. The food was also equally as good from the chef Thierry and his team and during the planning we had several conversations with him to get the exact menu we wanted. We got married in the celidh hall, which was perfect for 100 guests and then moved over to th tower for a drinks reception. The dinner was in the marquee and then it was back over to the tower for a live band until 1am. All of this moving throught the venue went very smoothly as Stuart and his team were always on hand to direct people and assist them. I would recomend this venue for a wedding based on our experiance and that has a lot to do with the staff, from the manager John all the way through to the bar staff.

Room Tip: It is worth upgrading to a Monarch room if you can.

Our son rececently got married at this venue and it must be said that all the guests who had travelled from all around europe and two couples who flew in from america thouroughly enjoyed the experience. (I see some other reviews with a very opposing oppinion but ours was on the whole very good). The manager, Stuart, who was the most visible on the day excelled in trying to ensure everything ran smoothly, particularly when the meal was being served.
The setting is exactly what you want, particularly for foreign guests. The public rooms in the tower all added character as did the suites. (The single rooms however should be turned into storage rooms, it is disingenuous to call them a single bedroom . !!!)
That aside, the general flow throughtout the day went without a hitch and the staff took the initiative in laying out candles etc to the marque.
The food met all expectations and the transition from the wedding meal, coffee / drinks to the evening entertainment went smoothly. The staff were very good at ensuring everyone had a drinks and nibbles etc. when required.
We had initail concerns about the layout for the evening entertainment which was an "L shape" formation, however once the band struck up, the dance floor was full all evening, particularly with the ceilidh dancing. I think the layout actually encouraged people to dance and get involved rather than sitting about watching.
Overall a great experience with great memories for everyone that attended.

Room Tip: Avoid the single rooms...... worth the upgrade to a suite when appropriate, they are excellent.

A beautiful hotel but don't be fooled! My husband and I had our wedding reception here and from start to finish we experienced the staff to be both unavailable and when reaching them unhelpful. Leaving us frustrated and upset during this special time. The evening of our reception was spent with myself and my husband having to guide guests upstairs to the event leaving some guests confused and unsure where to go. The bar consisted of lengthily queues and complaints of expensive drinks not to mention the bar running out of lager! The room although beautiful in decor proved uncomfortable and cold resulting in no sleep.
On returning from our honey moon we were met by a bar bill that looked like my husband had told all the guests it was a free bar (it wasn't) is was eventually resolved but in no hurry! 2 months on and I am still left dumbfounded, shocked and upset not to mention waiting on a phone call regarding missing items!! Please do not be fooled with its charm and beauty you will find its just the opposite!!

We had a lovely afternoon enjoying the excellent afternoon tea service. As part of our anniversary celebration we were hoping for something really special and the Carberry delivered on all fronts. Amazing setting in the centuries old tower building, steeped in history and set in lovely grounds. The afternoon tea served was a wide selection of finger sandwiches, pastries, scones with cream and jam. Even a small cup of soup and haggis and sausage rolls! Enough to last all afternoon and no room left for dinner. Very friendly and courteous service, and we were left in peace to enjoy in the beautiful drawing room overlooking the drive and gardens. Just fabulous.

Visited here on an Itison deal for afternoon tea. Whilst the setting is amazing and the interior excellent there were a few issues with the tea. Firstly the cream was missing to have with the scones not a major problem but to be told only one pot of tea available with the voucher deal is to say the least rather mean and did not leave us with a good impression.
The staff could not have been more pleasant or helpful.
