“Far beyond our high expectations”
Reviewed 30 December 2013

We had our wedding here between Xmas and New Year. Most of our guests stayed in house and everyone had comfortable rooms.
The public rooms are fantastic and a pleasure to spend time in.
The food was delicious and the drinks available from the whisky bar impressive.
The co-ordination of our wedding was seamless and Carberry created a truly memorable day for us.
We were very impressed by the hotel's flexibility and willingness to help us with little extras, at no notice, like finding a A0 sized easel on which to display a photo board.
The attention to detail with decorations and cleaning is superb and really enhances what is already a stunning location.
We would highly recommend this hotel for a wedding, a celebration or any special occasion. You will leave feeling truly spoiled.
Our only tiny tip would be that the sound system in the Music room is unfortunately terrible, which meant that our ceremony music didn't give the bride's entrance the impact we had hoped for.

Wonderful weekend at Carberry Tower attending a wedding. Started the weekend with a lovely dinner followed by a game of snooker with friends. Comfortable accommodation and enjoyed freshly cooked to order breakfast. Marquee was a great venue for a most enjoyable wedding, pleasantly surprised that despite stormy conditions the marquee remained cozy. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

stayed on sat 7/11/13, on a red letters day experience. the hotel was very dainty, with a roaring fire in the main relaxation area. the experience included a fine dinning experience which consisted of a 5 course meal, i was worried that i would be still hungry at the end of it. to my surprise my partner and I were more than full, and the food was delicious. My only complaint was the fact they only gave you half a mushroom for breakfast. I'm sure a company as big as theirs they could afford a full mushroom each.

Travel Zoo voucher for what was a disastrous stay and Dining Experience Thursday 28 Nov.
Excluded from the 1st floor lounges, library and music room due to private party. We were not advised of this in advance and due to the ground floor bar and lounge being cold without heating, we were confined to our room for the afternoon.
The so called "dining experience" consisted of a half glass of proseco, 2 mini canapés, and the meal consisted of a miniature jug of lentil soup, a disappointing choice of two for both the starter, main and sweet courses, neither of which were adventurous, exciting or memorable. The dining room was large and cold and we were the only two diners served by the only barman on duty.
Having travelled some 100 miles for what was to be our pre-Christmas treat this experience was one we wish could have avoided.
This place is now the *OW factor having lost it's initial W.
All our concerns were discussed with the duty manager but she could offer little in return.
If anyone else has the misfortune to be visiting Carberry "Fawlty" Tower for this dining experience, I suggest you try for a cancellation or refund.

We were guests at a wedding here and the wedding was brilliant thanks to the bride and groom and went without a hitch and the venue and setting were excellent. To balance this although others probably did not have our experience but we stayed in one of the lodge rooms which were very basic and not conducive to getting changed and made up for a wedding. The lighting in the room was dim the bathroom over mirror light did not work the toilet seat fell off as soon as it was lifted and stayed off for our stay and the shower only had one temperature and was too small. The room had no curtains on the windows. The light and toilet seat despite notifying the duty manager stayed broken and unattended. Drink prices in the bar are massively overpriced £9 for a glass of Rose' wine.

Room Tip: I do not know if they have a good lodge room?

Had a lovely afternoon tea here as part of it is on deal. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the hotel is in a beautiful location.

The open fire was lovely and warm on a brisk autumn day. Afternoon tea was delicious with a nice selection of scones, muffins, pastry, sandwiches and shortbread. The mini cups of soup were a lovely addition. The afternoon tea room was very quaint and a unique atmosphere.

Would recommend a visit here. Lovely!

My wife and i got married at Carberry tower in October and overall everything went perfectly to Plan. We had guests from many different countries and they were all complimentary about the venue and the staff. The General manager John, and the duty manager Stuart were both exceptional in their professionalism throught the day. It is a stunning venue with a lot of historical character but is modernised to a very high standard. The food was also equally as good from the chef Thierry and his team and during the planning we had several conversations with him to get the exact menu we wanted. We got married in the celidh hall, which was perfect for 100 guests and then moved over to th tower for a drinks reception. The dinner was in the marquee and then it was back over to the tower for a live band until 1am. All of this moving throught the venue went very smoothly as Stuart and his team were always on hand to direct people and assist them. I would recomend this venue for a wedding based on our experiance and that has a lot to do with the staff, from the manager John all the way through to the bar staff.

Room Tip: It is worth upgrading to a Monarch room if you can.
