Lindsay and Irvine, our charming hosts, welcomed us warmly on the rainy evening when we arrived at Inwood Gardens. Our well-appointed twin room offered everything a traveler could require, from tea tray and toiletries to scissors and transformers to recharge one’s camera battery. The full Scottish breakfast was delicious and the beautiful garden made it almost difficult to leave on our daily explorations. They were very helpful with directions and lent us a more detailed map than our own to get around once we hopped on the A1 which is right nearby. They also recommended excellent restaurants for dinner at the end of the day. We would highly recommend you stay with Lindsay and Irvine should your travels take you to the Edinburgh area.

We booked this B&B on the last minute as we were visiting family in Musselburgh and it was absolutely fantastic. When visiting again I would always try to book here first. We have stayed in other B&Bs in Musselburgh which were very good but this experience was just exceptional.
The surroundings of the beautiful gardens made this stay very special. The gardens were so lovely and the setting so peaceful, it would be well worth visiting just for the experience.
The accommodation was excellent and absolutely spotless and the welcome from Lindsay and Irvine was one which I have never experienced in a B&B before. They were the best hosts ever. They did everything possible to make our stay special and were so kind and helpful. I just cannot praise them highly enough. The breakfast was really delicious too.
I have now run out of superlatives but if you are able to - stay here!!

We attended a wedding reception in the nearby Carberry Towers and this was a most delightful B&B just a quarter of a mile away. The gardens in late June were quite exceptional and well worth a visit even if you are not staying. Relaxing in the conservatory while looking out on to the flowers was great. Lindsay and Irvine were most hospitable and he even provided a taxi service to the airport for one of our family who had to return early.

Room Tip: One room has a double bed, the other has two singles. Both look over the gardens. The en-suite bat...

The location , The Premises, The Relaxing Environment, The Comfortable, clean and CHARMING atmosphere ! ... and so very importantly , the very hospitable friendly owners, Lindsay and Irvine Morrison, what a lovely couple they are. Nothing was too much trouble, Lindsay was always thinking ahead for each of her guests, without imposing. A lovely sense of humour added to their genuine friendliness.
The garden was a peace of heaven ! so peaceful and serene, so expertly tended, its seriously was so beautiful, it made me feel quite emotional. My son and I arrived at 6.30pm and had to be out by 7.15pm for my nieces show, so we couldn't take it all in on arrival, we got back close to midnight and went straight to bed, with a written instruction to lock the front door, this added to the trustingly relaxed stay.
In the morning I ventured out into the garden with my cup of coffee, and was enveloped in such a beautiful sunny dew laiden garden, the jewel in the crown ! I'll say it again , but it was a little piece of heaven .
I would recommend this haven with no hesitation at all. My sincerest thanks to Lindsay and Irvine once again.

We have just returned home after spending five nights at Inwood Garden. We were visiting family in Musselburgh, and Inwood Garden was a great location to stay. All the previous reviews describe exactly the welcome you receive on arrival, and throughout your stay. Lindsay and Irvine are great hosts with a brilliant sense of humour, and treat you more like friends than guests. They also have excellent knowledge of the area and its history.
It is lovely to wake up to birdsong, and then eat the fabulous breakfast that sets you up for the day. This consists of fresh fruit, cereal, porridge, cooked breakfast, toast and croissant, with a choice of fruit juice, and tea or coffee.
Not only do you have a very comfortable bedroom, you also have the use of a lounge and conservatory. It feels more like home than a B&B.
The location of Inwood Garden is very convenient for the A1, and there is a nearby train terminus at Newcraighall, with a Park and Ride, which is convenient to get into Edinburgh Waverley in about 10 minutes.
We would love to stay at Inwood Garden again when we next visit our family, so will have to book early to avoid disappointment.

As part of our tour of Scotland to visit friends in Edinburgh and family in Lochgilphead, my elderly infirm father and I decided to try Inwood Garden. Our hosts were more than welcoming and made us feel at home right from our arrival through to our departure. The accommodation was very clean, tidy and well appointed. Breakfast was equally good. Being a keen horticulturist myself, a guided tour of the garden was a must. Though not designed for disabled persons, my infirm father was able to negotiate the small amount of steps in and around the bungalow.
