Three golfers enjoyed five nights here and were extremely well looked after by the owner and all the staff. The food was well presented well served and skillfully cooked. The restaurant service was excellent, well paced and served without exception with a smile. The hotel was just very very comfortable and just what we wanted. It exudes hospitality in a relaxed way that strikes just the right balance between professionalism and informality. Should you be in the area don't stay anywhere else, it offers great value and is a fine example of why you should choose good independent hotels over sterile chain ones. We are three hoteliers who really enjoyed our stay and will be returning next year.

We returned here for third time in the last 12 months and again were not disappointed. Excellent attentive staff, comfortable well appointed rooms and great food. Surely this must be one of the best small hotels in Scotland. We will be back.

We were delighted to return to this beautiful village and to the comfortable surroundings of this hotel. The staff were excellent and our host specially so, taking us up to our room and looking after us throughout our stay. This time we had a double room at the front with armchairs and a good view - the bathroom decor was a bit tired but in most areas the decor is wonderful; there are very comfortable sitting areas and the restaurant has been given a superb makeover in subtle colours. Parking is easy, there is pleasant walking, we were very well looked after and well fed from imaginative menus for dinner, for breakfast and for a light lunch. We hope to return.

Room Tip: We enjoyed being at the front on this visit.

Excellent food, excellent rooms and excellent staff. Can't really find a fault though on a personal note, the conservatory dining is noisy because of the wooden floor. The library restaurant is lovely but has no windows.
