“Comfortable and pleasant”
Reviewed 10 June 2013

We stayed here for a night in a double room. The room was comfortable and there was a lovely breakfast in the morning. We would certainly recommend it and Dirleton is an attractive little town. A nice little B&B - very good value and a short walk to 2 nice pubs which both serve food.

Managed to reserve the double room at short notice and couldn't have felt more welcome from start to finish. The room was bright, airy and clean, the breakfast was delicious and plentiful and the house was quiet and secluded. And the overall value was second to none compared to others in the area. A great all-round experience.

We stayed in May and it was great. The rooms are an extension to the house and you really feel that you are living with Bob and Jean as a quest - really good and would recommend this to anyone.

Three of us have just returned from a one night stay at the Water Tower. We found the accommodation to be of very good standard for a B & B. Everything was clean and fresh, rooms were bright and airy and the breakfast was cooked fresh to order and was of hotel standard and plenty of it. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at the Water Tower B&B for a night in July 2009. We chose the hotel based on it's web site and location as there weren't any reviews we could find. The B&B was great. The hosts are friendly and amiable.

They have 2 bedrooms which are located in but separate from the main house. The twin room is a bit larger than the queen but both rooms have vaulted ceilings and sky lights which made them feel larger. I can get a bit claustrophobic at times and this wasn't a problem. There is a sitting area in the green house-like entry way if you want to relax and read or whatever.

The B&B is fairly new and still feels new. It's modern and comfortable with nice attractive furniture and modern en-suite washrooms with showers.

The B&B is off the road down a private lane surrounded by fields. This makes it quiet and secluded. And yet you can walk 3 minutes up the lane and be at the Open Arms Hotel & Restaurant, the Dirleton Castle or the local pub. The lane has no name, but is just to the left of the Open Arms Hotel as you are facing the hotel. North Berwick is only a few minutes and it has several restaurants and a cliff side castle. In the field behind the back yard were sheep (close enough to see but not hear). That and the bordering fields gave the residence a pastoral feel.

An excellent full Scottish breakfast is available as well as other options. They have their own hens (we never heard them) so if the hens are laying you have fresh eggs as well.

Would definitely go back if in the area and would recommend to friends.
