Great lunch. Good value and beautifully presented. Lack of vegetarian choice was disappointing although the chef made a fab couscous when a veggie option was requested.

As it was a lovely day we decided to take a drive to the East Neuk for a casual look around and a spot of lunch. Had a quick look on internet before leaving and spotted this restaurant, so called ahead and reserved a table. Sometimes unplanned and immediate decisions just work out perfectly and this was one of those times.
The restaurant sits overlooking the harbour and the Firth of Forth with views directly across to the Bass Rock. There is a very small public car park just outside the entrance.
We opted to sit outside on a small terrace to enjoy the view and warm day. The menu is fairly small and can be set or a la carte both priced for two or three courses.
The food was beautifully cooked and superbly presented. Dishes included a smoked salmon, radish, and quail egg starter. Mains of ox cheek and samphire; halibut in a delicious chowder; puddings included a delicious date cake with vanilla ice cream and toffee sauce.
(Some other reviews describe this as a seafood restaurant, but I don't think it is specifically that)
Service was efficient, friendly and perfectly timed.
It isn't a place for a cheap meal but it is fine dining and good value for standard of food and cooking. The wine list is fantastic in range and quality but pricey.
Three courses each, a glass of wine, a good ale, cappuccino and double espresso came to £69.00.
We both felt this was one of the best, relaxed, enjoyable lunches we have had. We will certainly be back.

Found this place on tripadvisor and walked past the door on the Fife Coastal path or may have missed it.Menu is not long but food was excellent - not huge portions but you could happily eat dessert without feeling stuffed which suits me as a dessert person.Smoked trout marinaded in beetroot was melt in mouth, scallops in crab in coconut sauce one of the most delicate flavours I have had. Nicely finished off by lovely smooth and tangy blackcurrant parfait. We were there on a lovely summers evening and watched the light fading over the sea and fishing boats come in.I will be back.

We really enjoyed eating at this restaurant - it is quite popular - we visited on a Thursday evening and it seemed pretty much full. Bread rolls took a while to come - to the point that I thought we had needed to order them, but when the food came it made everything better!! I had Halibut or Hake with chorizo and beans and it was AMAZING!
The only downside about this restaurant is that I wouldn't really bother with pre-dinner drinks - the area is so small you all have to share two tables, making it very 'intimate' to the point you feel awkward talking about anything private!!! They can't really do much about it though which is a shame!

Fantastic location and great service. Was encouraged by the fairly short menu and hoped that indicated that the attention went on getting a small number of things right. Was a bit disappointed. Felt seasoning and pairings did not bring the best out of good produce, or else were not quite balanced enough to make for memorable mouthfuls. One person had the halibut and although the sauce etc with it was lovely the halibut itself was a bit tough and dry (not very but neither what you would expect at these prices.
