We shared a beautiful double room with a painted ceiling and our three teenage girls shared a room with a small kitchen. Perfect. After breakfast on the terrrace, Marina's homemade cakes and fresh fruits, we could head to the nearby beach on foot or by car (shaded parking, 3 euros a day). We made day trips to Giardini-Naxos, Etna, Taormina and Catania. We only heard English speakers at Etnaland, a water theme park. A local Pizzeria provided supper which we ate on the terrace, gazing at Etna. Alternatively we could cook for ourselves. Then best of all was Marina's cooking; local fish recipies and Sicilian sausages. The house is a clean and elegant family home. Guiseppe and Marina are the most charming and generous hosts.

Room Tip: Three rooms with painted ceilings, one with an en suite bathroom with large bath

We stayed with the wonderful Marina and Giuseppe, excellent host and hostess who made us feel that we were part of their family but at the same time were totally unobtrusive. Marinas cooking is certainly a worthwhile gastronomic experience. They have a most beautiful home, which could feature in any glossy home magazine. Marina and Giuseppe make you feel their home is there for you. We felt very welcome even with two young children. We will definitely return. We give this holiday experience out highest recommendation.

With Marina's excellent directions we easily found Camelie and were met at the front door by Guiseppe who guided us round and into the cavernous garage....which had originally been his grandfathers winery... our little Fiat 500 looked lost! Through the passage next to the garage and we ascended the outdoor stairway up to the huge terrace, extensively furnished with every type of seating you could wish for. The view toward Etna, still capped with snow , was somewhat spoiled by the cloud around the summit, but as Giuseppe said.. it's at its best in the morning when the sun shines from the east.
We had chosen to stay in the twin bedded room "oriente" and we weren't dissapointed .It is large and lofty with a beautiful curved ceiling, and a small balcony looking down on the paved street below . Marina had thoughtfully put an anti mosquito plug in in the room... though I fogot to plug it in and suffered the consequences.
We arrived in the afternoon and had made a prior arrangement to have dinner on the terrace...fantastic food and wine and at 20 euros ph.good value. Breakfast in the morning was lovely ..homemade jam and cake as well as ham eggs fruit and as promised a clear view of the vulcano.
Guiseppe gave us plenty of good tips on where the best places are to visit... .. sadly we never did manage to find the ancient chestnut tree, which legend has it that 100 horsemen sheltered beneath its branches.
The only downsides are due to the age of the property... the private bathroom is not "en suite" and the passing trafific does rumble past down below on the paved road but neither of these spoiled a wonderful visit. Phil and Sue S/ England

We had the pleasure of staying here for a week during our round-trip through Sicily. Marina and Giuseppe are wonderful hosts, taking care of their guests in a nice and sub-till way. The dinner they serve is made in the typical Sicilian style and taste wonderful. Such combinations are hard to find in a normal restaurant .

They take care of their guests, not only guiding them to places in the area, but as well in the way they run the B&B. You feel being part of the family.

Their home has a great terrace with a splendid view on the Etna. Having breakfast and dinner with a view on the Etna is hard to find !!

Our stay was an all around fabulous experience...from the beautiful and grand rooms to the most delicious breakfasts. Marina and Guiseppe could not have been more helpful or accomodating-especially with our four teenagers! The provided us with all the "insider information" about special places to see and what not to see...it saved us time and energy and really made the difference in our vacation. Staying in their beautiful palace was an experience none of us will forget...waking to the views of Mt. Etna from the terrace of the palace is a sight not to be missed. It was an authentic experience in a Sicilian home where we all felt welcomed and part of the family!

On arrival we were met by Giuseppe and Marina who gave us a warm welcome to their home. They were both very accommodating and nothing seemed like too much trouble as was proven during the 10 days we stayed there. The car was safely ensconed in the spacious garage when we were not out exploring the island. The room we choose for our stay was Suite Romantica, a lovely period decorated large room exhibiting a high ceiling and adjoining ensuite bathroom.
We had free access to almost all of the rest of the house including the large terrace where we spent time eating breakfast or relaxing whilst looking out at Etna. Marina proved to be a good cook, both at breakfast and the optional evening meals of which we indulged most evenings. Marina presented us with a range of four course home made Sicilian meals that were very enjoyable and filling washed down with local wine and hand made Limoncello!
Overall a very pleasant stay and a place we would definitely recommend to people planning to stay near Etna.
