We stayed for three nights in March 2011 - hoping for a quiet but comfortable short break. We chose the Atlantis on the back of tripadvisor reviews, and are happy to report that we found the hotel terrific. All the hotel side of life was excellent: breakfast, service, the rooms (beautifully set out), and the location is stunning. This is not a beach resort but a great place to unwind, go for long walks along the bay (we were alone when we went out one morning). The pool is lovely.
The only caution is on availability of good restaurants: but that's a by-product of being on the Atlantic coast (which is wild and beautiful). We ate lunch and dinner at the Atlantis: lunch was varied and excellent (and worth driving over to the hotel for), dinner was uninspiring. Choices in Bathsheba are limited to the Round House (great views of the surfing and not bad, but the Atlantis was much better for lunch) and the Atlantis. There is another, The Cove, but it's only open part of the week (we didn't go). But when we asked for recommendations of a good place to eat the hotel couldn't have been more helpful, advising us well (and getting us a reservation). Top marks. We would stay there again.More
