“Great - couldn't do enough for us”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

Fantastic. I came for my hen do with 10 friends. We stayed here to see the band - Thor, who were playing in the pub, and were excellent, after spending the afternoon in barlborough spa (down the road - which I also highly recommend). The rooms are very spacious and clean. The staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. We will definitely be coming back!

We arranged to stay at the Dusty Miller as a group of 30 plus women for our friends hen night. It is in a beautiful location and just across the road from the kenwood farm private spa making it an ideal walk. After a relaxing spa in the afternoon, we sauntered back to the hotel and got ready for an evening of great live music from the rock band Thor
The Dusty Miller has been owned by the same family for 38 years we found out and this comes across, the welcome is friendly and genuine, they were very accommodating and there was always a lovely smile.
Rooms were basic, but clean and comfortable with hot water. Tea and coffee facilities available.
Everyone enjoyed a hearty breakfast in the morning and vegetarians amongst us were catered for with no problems.

Although we did not sample the carvery this time, I have eaten there before and it was lovely.

The band was great and the locals are all really welcoming.

We had an excellent night and would recommend it
Thanks to all at The Dusty Miller, I will be back for more great music and friendly atmosphere.

We were in the area yesterday and fancied a pub lunch. We remembered the Dusty miller from years ago and decided to pay another visit. We parked round the back where there was plenty of outdoor seating. On entering the pub we spotted a carvery, on closer inspection we saw 4 nice joints of beef, pork lamb and turkey plus a dish of beef stew and dumplings and my favourite, liver and onions. There was a choice of mash, boiled new spuds, cabbage, carrots, leeks and peas. There was also 4graveys to choose. The bar staff were very friendly and the food piping hot.we will return next week for another nice meal out.

So the first thing to remember is that this is a pub .... It has people in who may make noise ( but not too late) so if you want a quiet dull night stay at the Ibis. If you want a lovely welcoming atmosphere, home cooked food, a wide selection of beers, great value immaculately clean rooms, and exceptionally friendly helpful staff - this is the place for you...... I look forward to returning to enjoy another carvery and a great nights sleep.

If you want a cheap and cheerful place, with good food, great beer and friendly service - this is your place. The rooms are small but well kept - and the bar / restaurant has a great friendly atmosphere and a good selection of food. The staff are very helpful - you cannot go wrong for the price!
