Surely my best meal ever in Perigord, the owners were so nice, and the food amazing. I'll go back there for sure during my next trip!

Local farm food. Amazing value. Tasty soup, pâté, duck breast with mushroom & Foie Gras slow cooked (just delicious), cheese selection with crack your own walnuts(!), nut tarte, coffees, jug of wine, aperitifs & liqueurs liberally supplied all for 23euros!! Not much choice of dishes but that's what to expect. Shorter and longer versions of menu. Kids 8 & 10 coped, but not chicken nuggets territory!! The kids chicken & potatoes was extremely tasty. My 8 yr old ploughed through 17 euro 6 course menu with the cassoulet - very proud! Service pedestrian, go with friends and relax. Allow at least 2.5 hrs. We were warned not to eat much before in the day. Well worth a visit. MUST RESERVE as it was full on a Thursday, virtually all with French family groups. The walnut cracking was hysterical each table got to that course with banging on the tables with little mallets!

This place is amazing. What amounted to a seven course meal, completely in tune with the seasonal foods, a bit of wine and a lot of digestif for 22-29 Euros. All food is local, most is grown on the farm that the restaurant is located on (it is part of the "Ferm" movement)

The food is incredibly well prepared and the owner is a bit of a cut-up (he only speaks French). Every course was exquisite and rich, and the food just kept coming. We tried to back out of the last two courses, but the owner wouldn't let us (and speaking of lettuce, the salad [the final course] was amazingly fresh.) We were there in April (white asparagus season) and the Asparagus tart was a true highlight--buttery flaky pastry. But everything was wonderful. If you are in the Roque Gageac region, do not miss this restaurant (you can do a lot worse)
