“Don't bother”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

What an awfull experience. We took my inlaws here on my partners birthday. We waited almost 20 minutes to be served and it was not busy at all, when we were served the lady was rude and slow. We had almost finished our tea before our scones arrived and the same lady practically threw them on the table. I will not go here again and certainly would not recommend to anyone visiting our beautiful island. Go to strawberry thatch in shanklin instead.

“Warm scones!”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

we stopped here while touring round the coastal road around the Isle of Wight. By the entrance of Blackgang Chine theme park with a free car park. We had cream tea and they even warmed the scones so yummy, good selection of teas and coffees and very friendly and helpful staff.

“Nice Scones!”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

Found this a much better deal than buying refreshments inside Blackgang Chine. Very reasonable prices and a good selection of items on the menu.

“Lovely tea room”
Reviewed 2 November 2013

This is a quaint, traditional looking tea room with wooden 'kitchen' style furniture. The meals we ordered were ok, but the service was slow and we noted that some meals, for other people, had been completely forgotten. It was a shame because the look of the place promised so much. The staff were friendly, but perhaps they need a little more training.

Thank you for your review, we're really sorry our customer service and promptness weren't up our usual standards on this occasion, it's very rare for us to fail to deliver on these points but thank you for letting us know.

“Excellent and would highly recommend!”
Reviewed 1 November 2013

We visited the Ship Ashore Tea Rooms several times during our week's stay on the Isle of Wight for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, even though it wasn't always the nearest place. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the service is faultless. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, you feel as if you are in someone's home. All the cakes are home-made and delicious. I cannot recommend enough!! Will definitely return again in the future.
