This was a different B&B to the norm, being an old historic mansion with all the benefits and disadvantages this brings. The house is full of memorabilia, old furniture and the floors creak but it is a pleasure to explore and experience. Our hosts, Jean and Alastair, were very friendly and helpful with advice. The experience of having breakfast with our hosts was a delight and a great chance to get to know them more. Our room was large, with an ensuite and period furniture, including a squeaky bed.
The location some 7 miles (11km) from town was not really good although, conversely, it was in a pleasant village and not the city centre.More
