We really enjoyed our visit, we only popped in and ended up staying ages, the animals are all in tip top condition and well done them for rescuing them. Nice to be able to get up close to so many different breeds and species. Thanks very much.

I've lived in this village for over 30 years. It used to be Redwings Horse Sanctuary, but that moved away, and it became what it is now. You can pay the entrance fee (and should!) but there is a public footpath from the village. So I pass through for free often! Beautiful horses, ponies, goats. There are also rescued cows. There were rescued chickens. Once there were 2 camels.

Well worth a visit - a variety of animals and birds to see, some up close and can be touched. It's good to have a high-profile Patron, namely actor Martin Shaw, and it must be remembered these animals have been rescued from death or appalling living conditions. The cafeteria provides a good range of foods, some excellent cakes, and the shop has interesting gifts as well as chutneys and jams which are very tasty. Have just attended their Christmas open weekend and a lot of work goes into making it enjoyable for adults and particularly for children. with a Father Christmas Grotto. There is no problem with people who may wish to take their dog/dogs around the site and handwashing facilities are provided if animals have been touched. It costs so much to provide a safe and healthy environment for these animals to live out their days and hopefully the hard work of the staff and generosity of visitors will enable this interesting sanctuary to flourish.

Looking for attractions in Norfolk that would keep our 15month old daughter interested for an afternoon, we stumbled across a flyer for Hillside.

Very reasonably priced to get in, there were plenty of rescued animals to see once inside and lots for our daughter and us to do. There is lots of room to roam about and it was good to see the animals being so well cared for after the distress that many of them have had to endure prior to being rescued.

The shop is well stocked & there is an on-site vegan cafe with delicious cakes. You also have the opportunity to adopt one of the animals during your visit and that way you can help the sanctuary keep going and rescuing even more animals.

All in all a very enjoyable afternoon for all the family & you are doing some good with your money too!

We have been supporting Hillside for a while now & thought we'd better pay a visit. It's cheap to get in £6 per adult & there are many rescued animals on show. They all have plenty of room to roam & are very well cared for.
It's a lovely day out & is raising money for a good cause, the shop has many well priced nick nacks & there id a cafe too.
If your in the Norfolk area treat yourself to a visit, you won't be disappointed.
