Lovely setting on the River Thames.

Great service couldn't fault that but the food was just average.

Calling the Waterfront a café does it a "huge dis-service. The only thing remotely "café ish" about it is having to place your order at the till. The food they serve is always delicious, beautifully presented & piping hot. The calibre of staff is greater than that of any fine dining restaurant in the area & their staff retention is better than at any other café or restaurant I have frequented since moving to Oxfordshire nearly 20 years ago.
They are definitely victims of their own success which can mean a wait for food. However the staff are always very upfront & accurate about waiting times, I have never waited longer than they advise & given the stunning location & quality of the food who cares, it's always worth the wait. Every single year they invest in & improve the fixtures & fittings, new awnings, furniture, etc. It is always an absolute pleasure to go to the Waterfront, It doesn't matter how busy they are, you are always greeted with a smile & treated like you really matter to them. The staff are like swans, always calm, courteous, efficient & friendly on the surface whilst working incredibly hard under immense pressure.

We ate at the Waterfront while on a River trip and moored at Benson. ( But you can also get at it via the Road !!! ) So we experienced both Dinner and breakfast. what a lovely place ! ..great location with a lovely outside seating area, looking out over the boats and the River Thames ( with blankets and throws provided in case it gets chilly) Both Dinner and breakfast were lovely. have to recognise the processes that this Cafe/Restaurant use - they , and the staff.. are very polished and honed. Food is very good ...plenty of choice and all served piping hot and good looking plates . Breakfast also very good ..Eggs Benedict and a few cups of tea set me up for the day - This place is open all day .... but stays looking clean and fresh ... and with something for everyone..Breakfast, morning Coffee, Lunch, afternoon tea and Supper. Dinner ....an all day cafe - well worth a visit !

Fantastic location right beside the river surrounded by boats where you can sit till the last rays of sun disappear over the river. However, outdoor furniture is falling apart and badly stained. In the last two years it has become a popular drinking spot and large rowdy groups are not unusual at weekends. Food is average apart from cakes and breakfast which is excellent. If you go during the week it is a great location for a riverside drink, also good for coffee and cake. Avoid bank holidays and weekends - it is horrible.
