The villas are very well designed in an environmentally friendly construction. You live very close to your room neighbours. For us this was no problem at all. Breakfast was in the main building. For me it was a bit too much "help yourself" with too little service. You have to make your own coffee and boil your eggs. For breakfast you had everything there (muesli, fruit, bread, marmelade, etc) but I would still call it a bit plain since I missed a fruit salad or fresh made scrambled eggs for example. But then again, it's not a hotel in the common sense but much more a vineyard with guest rooms where you can use the kitchen for yourself. And that's just fine as well. Thanks a lot.

Thanks for your feedback, thanks for recognizing the design and environmental friendliness of our buildings ... the respect for nature in all what we do is essential for me! It´s our continuous effort to balance between keeping the spirit of our winery and providing high quality hotel services. This year we have increased the variety of our buffet breakfast.

Hoping you are returning soon,

Martin

We had a great experience staying at Valdonica this past July. We were there for two nights - one of which included dinner with Martin, the owner. This was the highlight of our stay! The food and wine were fabulous and Martin is a very gracious host. If I had to provide any constructive criticism, I would say that wifi really only works in the common area, and the shelf in the bathroom was really too small to use effectively - really neither were any kind of major issue for us. We stayed in the main building, not in the villa rooms.

Thanks for staying with us - it was great to have you at our Valdonica-Dinner. Valdonica Dinner is also a highlight for us: We love to meet our guests, we love the food Angela and her team prepares and we love our wines (I might be bias on this!). It´s a continuous discussion we have internally about expanding the free Wifi-Zone into the Cantina-Rooms: Many guests are grateful for wifi-free rooms - and for the conscious step into the electronic space in the common areas of the Cantina. Looking forward to reflect this with other guests and with you along your next visit to Valdonica,

Martin

We spent a month in Italy and this was the gem of the trip. Off the beaten path winery with fantastic owners and great workers like Julie, an incredibly helpful staff member.

We spent a fantastic evening dining with the owner and other guests and loved every second of it. We will for sure be back.

Our honeymoon was really made by this trip. The rooms were beautiful, the wine was great and the food was fantastic.

We stayed 3 nights in Valdonica during our honeymoon trip to Tuscany. From there we traveled to Siena and some smaller towns in the area.
Overall, we really enjoyed the experience, with special thanks to the property manager Massimo, who was very kind and helpful, giving us a tour around the winery and providing us with useful travel advice.
The surroundings are very beautiful, even though we had not imagined that some parts of Tuscany have lots of forests indeed, so the views were somewhat different than we had imagined. The rooms were nice, but we found them a bit too small. We were struggling to find place for our suitcase. The breakfast was a bit plain in our view. We stayed there 3 nights, and every day it was completely the same, and the choice was quite basic. Otherwise, the service, was very good, with lots of extras (e.g. wine tasting) included in the room rate.
There are several nice tiny Italian towns quite close to the winery, where you can get lots of value for money deals in restaurants, like most expensive pizza on menu for 5 EUR, and a country-side feel :)

Thanks for your visit - honeymooners are always special to us: They inspire love in Valdonica! Thanks for providing an opportunity for talking a about breakfast at Valdonica:

- On sunny days breakfast is prepared on the Forum´s Terrace in the shade of the Pergola - overlooking the vineyards and the rolling hills of Tuscany. On chilly days breakfast is prepared inside the Cantina at the Forum´s Table - with an open view through a glass walls on the vineyards and the rolling hills of Tuscany as well into the wine-cellar.

- Coffee is key in Italy: With a Jura-Coffee machine (actually from Switzerland) we found a product, providing the joy of coffee for our guests and ourselves. Tea-making facilities are also available

- For the "sweet" breakfasters we provide a selection of three honeys and three marmalades (fig is the favorite for our guests) from local family producers: Organic, Biologic and Heart-full. Actually we had Japanese guests who shipped home 50 glasses of honey.

- For the "salty" breakfasters we provide pecorino (sheep-cheese) as well as prosciutto and salami from local producers

- Good bread is a challenge in Italy: A bakery from a village 20 minutes away prepares the special dark bread for us and we provide a selection of freshly baked croissants

- Orange-Juice, muesli and fresh seasonal fruits for the more "healthy" breakfasters

For us a joyful breakfast means a good start into the day. We wish everyone lots of joyful breakfasts,

Martin & Team

Amazing views, perfect and genuine Tuscan countryside experience, excellent wine and charcuterie creations - these are just a few of the very many highlights that come to our minds when thinking of our visit to Valdonica. The property manager, Massimo, was fantastic - from helping us set up transportation to tending to our every need and making us feel at home, he made us feel as though we were family, making this holiday all the more enjoyable!

The only critique that we have is that we were not offered our complimentary bottle of wine as advertised. When we asked for our complimentary bottle, it was a tad awkward.

Room Tip: If you're going for privacy, the villa rooms are perfect; contrary, if you're wanting more interaction with the other visitors, then stay in the standard double rooms located in the winery.
