Popped into the North Kessock Hotel for a family meal on Sunday, we arrived about 2.20pm and the waitress advised us they stopped serving food at 2pm, we turned to leave but she said they would serve us. We weren't sure what to expect at this point but the food came freshly cooked, well presented and portions generous. The staff service was impeccable even though they were preparing for the evening sitting, we could not fault them. I would highly recommend a meal here and I certainly will be back, next time I will make sure it's within the serving times! Great fresh food and a lovely atmosphere. Thank you to the staff at the hotel.

Travelled to this hotel for an evening meal on the recommendation of a friend, wished I hadn't bothered. Left feeling sick and £60 lighter for below average food!!!!
Whoever is responsible for designing the menu and producing the food here, is confused and has no palate. Crab starter was strangely devoid of any kind of flavour. Lamb main, on menu as served pink, even cautioned by waitress that it would be pink, was however completely overcooked and resembled the leather sole of a boot!.....and way over priced at £17.95 for such a small cutlet with no accompanying veg, just a potato rosti that was as grey as the lamb was!!!
Kessock Hamful main was an utterly sickening combination of ham and prawns, made almost inedible by the overpowering marie rose sauce.
Desert was supposed to be a white chocolate and lime cheesecake. The only lime was a thin sliver on the top of the whipped cream accompaniment. Also had a half strawberry and mint leaves on top...WHY?! The biscuit base was stale and could only be broken by using a knife to spear and chisel it. Not a traditional cheesecake either, made from cream cheese and whipped cream, not baked. Absolutely no reference of the white chocolate could be detected, but it was served with dark chocolate drops of the kind you give to dogs and smothered in dark chocolate sauce!!! Again WHY?! Completely confused dish!
Restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, but we were not welcomed in a friendly manner, and the staff and service was decidedly average to disappointing to.
Would not return here voluntarily and would not recommend, save yourself the drive and cost and eat elsewhere.
The only positive thing about the visit was the Dark Island beer from Orkney, amazing dark beer.

Had a lovely lunch here with my fiancé - good menu, good portions and freshly cooked - will be taking my father here for a meal very soon as he loves his food :-) Enjoy the beautiful view over the firth, i'm biased because I love my hometown of Inverness, but when the sun is out and the water is shimmering its gorgeous.

We were a party of four people who visited this hotel for an evening meal.. The staff were very nice and friendly the food was superb. In the daytime there is a lovely view over the water. We actually went back for a second time a couple of days later, again everyone enjoyed the meals. I think you could pick anything on the menu and it would be great. We would go back again.

The hotel is situated in a beautiful part of the world. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The accommodation is clean but basic and a little dated. I cannot say it would be the first hotel I would go back to but the dinner was lovely it had wifi and a tv that worked. It was therefore value for money.

Our first, but definitely not last, visit to the hotel for dinner. Beautifully cooked and presented food; we enjoyed the steak and monkfish main courses. Faultless service. Busy and friendly establishment.

we didnt stay in the hotel but we had an excellent lunch after visiting the dolphun and seal centre.
the shore has beautiful views and the water surface was glacial when we were there.
a dolphin was swimming in the centre of the channel but did not come closer due to the low tide.
the hotel is a great place to eat especially on a warm day,
the staff were friendly and helpful.
