If you're planning to stay in the area, look no further , this is the place to go to. The couple that run this place are genuine, hospitable and friendly. My room was spacious and clean. The power shower in the bathroom was a real treat, I might invest in one myself. For breakfast you have 3 or more choices, I went for the full English breakfast every time as the sausages were from the local butcher and on a par to a German bratwurst ( tasty ).
Close by are a couple of pubs and shops within walking distance ( 5 to 10 mins ) which make the location ideal if you don't want to use the car.

One of the joys of English B&B's is the opportunity to stay in lovely and interesting houses. This is one of the best, the decor is colourful and the owners many possessions are beautifully displayed. Yet it maintains a homely and relaxed atmosphere, partly due to the famous dog! I stayed here with my daughter in the twin room, very comfortable beds and spotless. We had the large shared bathroom next door to ourselves, another spacious and beautifully furnished room. The disappointment of not having tea/coffee making facilities in the room (though this could have been arranged) was more than compensated by having tea served in the lounge which we were encouraged to use as much as we liked. This room has to be one of the most beautifully furnished available in a B&B, enhanced by views of the lovely gardens which surround the house. Lovely drive, easy parking.

Booked here on the basis of excellent trip Advisor reviews.

Didnt quite live upto expectations.

Wasnt as pleasantly rural as I had expected. Parking was OK at the front of the house. Big gravel driveway.

We werent able to use the sitting room downstairs as family of the owners were staying and it was being used, and they were also hosting a dinner party, but i didnt know about this in advance. Dinner party guests also left quite late!!

No tea or coffee making facilities in the room - i hated this, like to have a cup of tea when i wake up!. Room was a bit cool and looked like it had got stuck in the 1980's. Very eclectic decoration and furnishings. Some people might find this charming but sorry, i didn't. Just a bit of a mish mash of stuff i thought.

Bed was enormous though and comfortable - best feature of room.

Bedroom TV was tiny and really poor signal, kept freezing.. some channels unwatchable.

En suite door handle was very loose, worried that it might come off and shower had very poor pressure. Internet was OK, but we had BT wifi internet access through BT wifi, unsure how other people might access the internet. No local information in the room.

Breakfast was OK, cooked to order, nice thick bacon, tasty marmalade. Yes, lovely friendly dog but shouldnt have been allowed in breakfast room while we were still eating.

Would i stay again? Hmmm, no, not for me.

A fantastic return to Taylard House. We stayed for 1 night with a group of friends. Sue was very happy for us to have a drinks reception before we went out for the evening. The Cab to and from our friends house was supplied by Sue's Husband.

The B&B was spotless and we had a super full english breakfast.

Taylard is UK B&B at it's very best.

With seasonal best wishes.

Wonderful overnight stay at a gorgeous, bed and breakfast. The hosts couldn't have been more accommodating, the dog more friendly or the breakfast better cooked, and the beds / linen / bathroom were first rate. A taxi service is also provided upon request - which is a big plus as taxis are hard to find! highly recommend.

I have just returned from staying at Taylard House for 2 nights with my mother staying in their twin room.

Its a lovely location, a beautiful building and next door to a stunning church and a real delight to hear the bells ringing on Sunday morning. The grounds of Taylard House are very well maintained and I imagine very pleasurable to sit in if the weather is favourable. The house itself is large and exactly what you expect from the pictures. There are lovely homely touches for example to the bathroom (toiletries/flannels etc) that make you feel a welcome guest in an (unintusive) family home. Oh, and I must mention, 100% value for money.....and a very adorable dog!

I hope to return. Also I must say this is someone that lone travellers would feel suitably comfortable.

Sue and Andy are such friendly and warm hosts at this charming bed and breakfast. It is a home away from home and you will be made very welcome. Breakfast was great, our room was very comfortable and clean. There is a lounge for guests which is a big plus. The grounds are beautiful. Highly recommended
