We had Sunday lunch at the Old Boot. Most of our party chose roast sirloin of beef, but one of our number chose the Belly Pork from the Specials menu. The food was expensive and not of great quality. Those of us who ordered the roast "sirloin" rare found the meat to be just edible, but two of our party ordered it cooked medium and it was tough to the point of being impossible to eat. It actually resembled a "supermarket" topside joint rather than a proper sirloin. My daughter found her belly pork fatty and I overheard someone on a nearby table complaining that hers was as tough as an old boot. The service was indifferent and at £13.50 a portion, we will not be repeating the experience!
