We stopped here for a Father's day lunch, with the family and two dogs. The owners made us very welcome and made a real fuss of our pups.
The food was tasty and they even kept one meal warm for a late arriver.
Good food selection and great selection of Ales.
It's a little out of the way, but well worth a trip out.

Great pub hidden away in Burnham beaches. Cosy inside in the winter but it also has a great pub garden in the summer. Plenty of ales to choose from when a great out menu.

Ill been returning for sure!

We have been to the Blackwood Arms many time and always enjoyed it but last nights meal was particularly good.

We both chose one of the specials, Debbie had the dressed crab which she was really pleased with that.

I chose the fillet steak, served with fondant potatoes, asparagus, wild mushrooms and red wine jus. Now that alone sounds great but the chef surpassed himself with how well it was cooked with my usual challenge kid having it cooked well done. I.e. No pink/blood. It was stunning flavour, moist and the chef explained how he had cooked it afterwards so as to avoid the usual risk of it turning out as a hockey puck. Superb approach and one I will try at home.

If you have not tried Blackwood Arms then make the effort. Sean and the team never fail to impress

We visited with friends one chilly midweek evening towards the end of May and were pleased to see our table had been reserved near a lovely log fire. The pub has a lovely ambience and I imagine it would be a really cosy place on a winter’s evening. There were already diners at most of the other tables, so would recommend that you reserve your table in advance.

Although a Brakspear pub, The Blackwood Arms had 6 ales on that night, both Brakspear Bitter and Oxford Gold, Wychwood Hobgoblin and three others all new to me. An unusual but very welcome feature of this pub is that you can purchase a “paddle of beers” comprising three 1/3rd pint samples for £3.90 - so I tried all three “unknown ones” and I was not disappointed. The beers are all well kept.

When it came to ordering food, the waitress was friendly and efficient, repeating our order to ensure no mistakes or misunderstandings. The menu provides a number of dishes available in two different sizes - other pubs should take note. There is also a compact specials board. The food can be either quite imaginative or traditional pub fayre (a fairly big choice for a country pub) - everything was well presented and tasty.

We enjoyed our trip to The Blackwood Arms and look forward to another visit if the summer properly starts, so we can try out the beer garden - the view looks enticing. Everything was just as we would have wished - the welcome, the service, the food and the drinks. The pub caters for those with dogs, horses (hitching rail opposite the front door!) or muddy boots and it looks like there would be some good woodland walks nearby. Recommended.

Excellent staff, Landlord Landlady and an amazing chef. So many thoughtful touches. Can't rave about the food enough! Nothing is to much trouble. The cares and woes leave at the door (and this is before you sample the lovely wine!) Beautiful views to the rear of the pub. Well done and roll on the weekend!
