“great value for money - and extra kindness!”
Reviewed 5 August 2012

here you feel like at your own place: everybody is so kind and ready to help!te owners are around, and you can ask them anything. rooms are somehow basic but extremely clean. there is a bar where you can help yourself and just note on a piece of paper what you drunk.
there is a small swimming pool where you can enjoy a magnificent view.
perfect place for relaxing time in the summer (too lonely for winter time, I guess).
superb value for money!

...as it is that good!
This is an agriturismo which is more than just that
Yes you can tick all the following
Lovely refurbished old farmhouse
Stunning views over own vineyards from all rooms (and as far as Monte Rosa on a clear day)
Stunning Breakfast of local (and often own products)
Possibility to sample and purchase own wine and tour the estate
honesty bar of own wine in the degustation room
However what sets it apart is the charisma of the owners, their love for their country and the job they do which shows in every single aspect during your stay
when you arrive you will be greeted with a warm welcome and a cold Moscato, whilst you are having breakfast your room is made up (there are 5 star hotels who don't get this right), the breakfast is always homemade and always local and whilst the choice is naturally smaller as in a hotel there is something different to sample every day and you always learn where the cheese is from who makes the salami at cetera and the freshness and loving presentation needs to be seen to be believed. On warm days you can have the breakfast in the loggia with a view of the mountains. Anna Lisa the owner and Manager seems to be everywhere at the same time she speaks excellent English and will book you tables in Restaurants recommend things to do (whether hiking, sightseeing or just were to have lunch)
A tour to the vineyard and winery with her dad Giancarlo shows what hard work and passion it takes to create outstanding wines, and you do not need to speak Italian to understand his values and enthusiasm to create outstanding products. Whilst Experimenting and creating for example a sauvignon blanc or the "super"piemontese Barbera Nebbilo Blend La Bisbetica he remains very passionate about the Barbaresco which must not be tempered with to please the wine writers and is tended with lovingly during the whole year (work in the vineyards starts these days - bottling of the 2008 harvest just finished). Despite or because of this the Estate is esteemed by the writers and several wine awards are the result of this passion (please sample relevant literature - i.e. Gambero rosso or espresso wine guide for further information)

Room Tip: All rooms are nice back rooms more view of vinyards, front rooms more mountain views

This is a marvelous place. Our apartment was large, with a fireplace and 2 balconies. It is surrounded by the family vineyards with marvelous vistas. You can sit under the pergola at dusk and see both the French and Swiss Alps -- with Monte Rosa (Zermatt hides behind it) looming above everything.

Breakfast is generous and filled with home-cooked items. The wine room (honor bar) adds to the "help yourself" appeal of the place. Everyone in the place has a smile. Our fellow guests were from New Zealand, Belgium, Germany and England.

You are within reasonably short drives of a huge variety of wine tasting opportunities. The closest large town is Alba, but you are near Barolo (and its new wine center). Check the Internet for driving trips in the general area. The roads perch on ridgelines and curve with the landscape.

The difference between this part of the Piedmont (called the Langhe) and Tuscany is that it is green and has hazelnuts instead of olive trees. Plus, it isn't overwhelmed with tourists.

We ate at Iron Chef worthy Profumo di Vino (Treiso) and In Piazza (Montelupo Albese, on the Piazza Castello). A different type of wonderful dining was Da Lele in Murazzano (off to the south with a tower that was used to warn of Saracen raiders).

To fully enjoy, you must drive -- but it is much easier than in Chianti.

They work hard to make your stay memorable.

When (in 2011) we recommended the place to friends who tend to stay in 4 Star hotels, we were a bit worried. They, too, loved it. We were there in September 2010.

Room Tip: Rooms vary in size. Check their website for choices. Many, but not all, are second story with no e...

A quaint agriturismo in a beautiful setting among the Barbaresco vineyards. They make excellent wine and give guests many opportunities to try this wine in low pressure settings. Upon our arrival, Anna Lisa's mother, showed us our rooms and made us feel welcome. She showed us an area where we could try various bottles of house wine at any hour. All we had to do was write down in a notebook what types we took. This was especially helpful when we got back late from dinner and wanted to try a wine with friends. After showing us the property, she then invited us into the communal dining room area with a fireplace and opened a bottle of wine to sample. What a nice welcome to Barbaresco! We had breakfast at the Agriturismo every day and also were fortunate enough to experience dinner one night. The Agriturismo only does dinner if enough guests are interested. The dinner was excellent and was cooked by Anna Lisa's husband. It consisted of roasted wild boar in a wine sauce. The wine at dinner was free-flowing. The experience and food rivaled the Michelin Star restaurant visited the preceding night. The dinner price was 30 euros which was a steal. The rooms were extremely clean, large, and comfortable. Definitely worth the trip!

Room Tip: look at the rooms on the website for pictures. We had the master bedroom with an extra room and fire...

This is an agriturismo which grows grapes. The location is beautiful and there is a nice place outdoors where guests gather in the evening to enjoy a glass of wine. The already opened bottles were free to use, but you could also purchase one of their excellent wine bottles for very reasonable prices. We especially enjoyed their Moscato wine. Treiso is ony about 2-3 miles away and we enjoyed good food there for dinner. Dinner is only available at this agriturismo on Saturday. Sorry we missed it. Breakfast was very generous and had excellent cheese, meats, breads and coffee. The room was very comfortable. The staff were very hospitable and kind. When we arrived we were offered some wine. This place is very close to Alba. Internet was available for a fee. If you're interested in Italian cooking lessons, contact ICIF(Italian Cooking Institute for Foreigners) which is halfway between Asti and Alba, about a 35 minute drive away. We really enjoyed our experience there. You can find them on the internet. Our classes were in English.
