“Clean and peaceful sun beds a problem”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

Lovely clean organised site lake and beach peaceful and safe. Staff efficient and helpful. The area was mostly forest so you had to drive some distance before actually getting anywhere so staying on site what what most people did. My biggest complaint is the lack if sun beds if you weren't at the gate at 10 when it opened you had no chance of getting one for hours! Some people left towels on their beds all day and didn't even use them. I would recommend and return but would change the pool strategy

We are pleased that you chose siblu la réserve for your holiday and even more pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us!
This year over 250 sunbeds are available at the pool and the lifeguards regularly ask the holidaymakers to not leave towels on unoccupied sunbeds but of course we also rely on everyone's respect of this rule so that time at the pool is pleasant and happy for all.

We hope that you'll become one of our returning holidaymakers and we look forward to welcoming you again on the village very soon!

Kind regards,

we decided last minuete to go for a 2 week holiday to La reserve.
we had been as a family back in 2011 and had enjoyed it very much. this time however we are truly disappointed.

it appears the campsites biggest asset has been left to rack and ruin, the port is in a disgusting state after towing my boat all the way from England I expected a small charge to leave it in the port but a charge of 56 euro per week was rediculas. not to mention the port was wall to wall with thick weed which snagged on the propeller as soon as it was in the water I hate to think what damaged it may have caused to it being left in the 2 weeks.
The beach club was non existant there didn't appear to be any boats avalible for hire and the one or two I did see down there were incomplete and unusable.

Siblu had clearly spent a lot on money on renovating the arial bar in the middle of the site and this looked very good indeed and was only let down by the fact thy had not done the outside paved area at the same time sill cracked and mismatched concrete. tarmac and blockpaving it really lets its down :( and the prices of drinks are clearly overinflated to recover the cost of the rebuild. not to mention the fact that there are two different prices one for OWNERS of caravans and one for guests renting them .

The pool area is as nice as it was before but again sat sunbathing and seeing a lifeguard going round weeding the cracks in the block paving and then re-cementing the cracks is a bit bad but all in all a very nice and more inportantley safe swimming pool area.

all in all we did enjoy our holiday but I think it may be our last at this campsite,
the over inflated prices,
the them and use culture from the owners and staff having to ask which one you were before charging you (incase they charged the wrong price )
music on loud till early hours of the morning.
But by far the biggest disappointment was the beach and port area the website full of photos of sailing dinghys and a lovely port area and complete opposite when you get there.

also beware if you book privately instead of through Siblu as the entertainment bands (for the swimming pool) cost a small fortune Adults 35 euro a week Kids 17.50 a week.
all the need is a mask and you could rename this campsite "Dick Turpin's"

Room Tip: Try not to get a caravan to near the bar the music on a night is loud and goes on far to long.

Thank you very much for choosing siblu La Réserve for your holiday this year. We are pleased that you enjoyed your holiday.
The weed that can be found in the port at La Reserve is a plant that grows in all of the lakes in the region and, contrary to other ports, at La Reserve the port is cleaned once a year in June. This cleaning process is thorough and even includes some divers to go and put the roots out.

The beach club opened on 14th June and not all boats or equipment available for hire or lessons would have been installed when you stayed with us as it was low season.

We are glad that you appreciate the renovation of the Airial bar as we are indeed very proud of it but we do not agree that the prices have been increased to recover the cost of the renovation. On the contrary, despite this year’s increase in bar taxes and VAT, with a half of draught beer at 2.2 € the bars at siblu La Réserve are amongst the cheapest in the area.

We are pleased to read that you enjoyed the pool and found it safe for you and your family.
There is always a manager on site to talk to and share your experience with whilst you’re on holiday with us and they would have been happy to discuss this with you.

We hope that you will remember the good timesthat you spent with us and that you will be back on holiday again.
Best regards,
Magali

2013 was our 3rd consecutive year at La Reserve, we stayed for 3 weeks in August 2013 and have enjoyed every holiday. Noise is an issue with teenagers at the beach until very late and making slot of noise walking home! but to be honest it has never spoilt the holiday at all. Pools are great and activities and amenities are good on site. Rockley watersports were amaziing and highly professional and we spent most the time on the lake sailing which was amazing, it is therefore a real disappointment to hear that Siblu have terminated Rockleys contract at La Reserve in 2014. The watersports and sailing that Rockley provided were a huge asset to the site and as a result has affected our decision to return for a 4th consecutive year in 2014 because of the lack of watersports and sailing school. I do not think Siblu realises what an impact

Thank you for your comments and for choosing siblu La Réserve for your holiday.
We do our best to ensure that noise is not an issue with teenagers on the beach or when they are making their way home. We have an outside security team who manage this for us and we also ask that parents help in making their children aware of other guests. As we are a family orientated company this works well on the whole.
I am glad that this has never spoilt your holiday and hundreds of other families, like you, who come back to us year after year.
I am delighted that you liked other facilities and the pools at our village.
Yes Rockley were very professional and they were an asset. Unfortunately not all guests liked them and we do our best to listen to all our guests' opinions.
We will still have plenty of watersports and activities on offer to please our guests. We are aware that the lake is indeed a great asset to our village and adults and children alike will still be able to have fun on its waters and the lovely beach.
We do sincerely hope that you will carry on trusting siblu and that your family will yet again return to us for a super holiday.
We look forward to seeing you.

This site is fantastic for a family holiday. Went in a group of 8 and stayed in an 8-berth caravan. It is definitely worth getting a caravan that has decking on it, as we had lovely evening meals out there. The weather was beautiful in August, one big storm on one of the nights, but did not carry on into the day. Pool area was good, slides where fun and it is a vast area- but not enough sun beds. It is self- catered of course so you have to pay for your food and by it in the pricey on site shop. We found a small French supermarket about 10-15 minutes from the site called 'Super-U'. It was cheap and nice, with a lovely Patisserie. The beach is part of a big lake, which we thought was a sewage deposit, as the beach had a foil smell, and you could see big lumps of foamy chemicals to clean out the lake, this is where it loses marks for me. The beach was man-made, but the sand wasn't too bad. Entertainment was good, but never enough seea

Room Tip: Get a decking and air con!!

Our village has got direct access to a sandy beach on the natural lake of Biscarrosse-Parentis which is not a sewage deposit. The foam that one can sometimes see is a natural consequence of the movement of the water on lakes because the use of chemicals is strictly forbidden on a natural site like this.
We are pleased that you enjoyed your holiday and we hope that you will choose siblu La réserve again.

A lovely site - our van was on a quite little 'street' near all the ammenities/ beach and pool. Lovely van - would recommend having the aircon - it made a big difference. Weather was lovely. Can't understand why people complain about it being aimed at the French - it's in France!! Really enjoyed out two week stay - suitable for all three of our children aged between 8 and 14. There is a super beach not far away at Mimizan - but make sure you go near the lifeguard station as the waves are very strong. Have mad an early bird reservation for next year as it does bring the price down.

La Reserve is on beautiful Lake Biscarosse and there is an excellent water sports company, Rockley, offering a range of courses and equipment hire. Rockley is run by friendly, helpful and professional people and I would highly recommend them.

Unfortunately the site does not match up to this. Mobile homes on tiny pitches, are crammed together in straight lines meaning you can see directly into the homes on either side. We spent the week with the curtains closed to get some privacy. The mobile home, an elegance, was old and tired and scruffy and bore no resemblance to the photos on the Siblu site. Beware that many of the mobiles are privately owned and so, I imagine, are not renewed as often as it they were owned by the company. The sofas in ours were so worn that they were covered in blankets.

I could have lived with all this but the noise on the site after 10pm was ridiculous. The music from the pool and bar was very loud and it thumped on past 11pm most nights. Then there was the noise from other mobile homes. No consideration was given to others on the site and the music and conversations out on decks went on into the small hours. Not everyone on holiday wants to stay up all night and sleep in the next day. If you want to go to sleep at 11pm you should be able to. Nor should you have to repeatedly get up and ask others to be quiet. The site management should be responsible for making sure that the site is peaceful after 11pm.

The swimming area is good. Lots of pools with different depths and good water slides with life guards on hand. The takeaway is good, nice food and good value. These were the only good things about the Siblu part of the site. The staff in the office just looked weary when I complained about the noise at night. They must have had a whole summer of it.

On the whole I would say don't bother. It's a very long way to drive for a big disappointment.

Room Tip: If you must go and you want peace ask for a mobile/pitch away from the pool.

Thank you for choosing siblu La Réserve for your holiday.
The pitches measure between 150m2 and 250 m2 and there are different areas across the park where the holiday homes are displayed differently, in lines or circles.
Siblu rents holiday homes no older than 7 years old and all are inspected before the season starts, whether they are privately owned or owned by siblu. We try to ensure that all our holiday homes are in a perfect condition, also by cleaning and checking them between each lets, and the reception team is available for any requests.
Each holidaymaker is given on arrival a copy of the park rules and regulations asking to keep the noise down at night.
We have a security team to help ensure the park is peaceful and a number is given out and displayed to call the security team in case they are needed.
We are glad to read that you liked the pool complex.
Thank you for your comments.

just returned from la reserve after travelling there with 3 other familys with teenage children and young children and have to say we could not fault the place, first all of us were given fantastic holiday homes all elegance with decking and aircon and all had a lovely pitch and very close to one and other as requested, the site itself is large has a great pool complex for all ages with very good lifeguards, then there was the wonderfull lakeside beach with shallow waters making it a safe place for the smaller kids, the night time entertainment was a mixture of french and english we found realy good infact one of the girls in our group sang on the karaoke on the first night and was asked to sing solo twice with the entertainment crew on other nights and she realy enjoyed it they made her so welcome,we found all the staff on site very cheerfull and helpfull, all the entertainment closed down about 11 ish and was quiet around that area the other bar in the middle of the site opened at 11 and most of the older kids went along as there were lots of teenagers there we visited the bar on numerous occasions to have a drink and check on them and they all seemed to be having great fun french, dutch, irish and english all together our mobile was about 100 yards from the bar and we didnt find the noise to bad,the security men on site were great with the kids around the bar and when the bar shut would quight often give the 4 older boys a lift home on their buggy whilst checking everybody returned to their mobiles, the younger kids enjoyed the pools and 2 of them went to the kids club through the day and thought it was brilliant, bike hire was also very good with some fantastic bike tracks around the site, they was some nice beaches around the area mimizan was very nice but waves can get quite large we also visited the dune du pyle that was fantastic well worth a visit and arcachon just up the road is a pretty little seaside town with fantastic shops and market, all in all we would return to la reserve because of the location and the site we thought were fantastic.
