“A really beautiful property”
Reviewed 29 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We were met by Ian & Ishbel who showed us round the property & also provided us with a small hamper of food to start us off.
We did not like the property, we absolutely loved it. It was extremely well furnished with every thing we could want.
The location for us was ideal, the weather being so good we spent a great deal of time around Findochty.
The post office is just a short walk away, as is the small general store which seems to sell just about everything. The Admiral a minute's walk away (very handy) they do a good evening meal and once a week the fish and chip van parks on the green, well worth a try.
The fishing is good from the outer harbour wall as well as the rocks. The walk along the costal path to Buckie and back is worth while even though signs are a bit hit and miss at times.
All in all a wonderful relaxing holiday in a superb setting.

“A haven of peace and tranquillity.”
Reviewed 27 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Having not been well I needed a place to relax away from the hustle and bustle and this
little cottage by the harbour certainly fitted the bill. The weather was not particularly kind to us but the efficient central heating and the glowing log burner kept us snug when we could not go out and about.
The cottage was beautifully clean and well kept and the parking space outside the door was a bonus for people with older limbs. I would highly recommend this accommodation whatever your age, as the facilities and contents really do suit everybody.

Stayed for one week with my brother and our wives. Lovely village, lovely cottage. Equipped with everything you could ask for - from fluffy towels to wifi. The rear patio is only a few yards from Findochty's picturesque harbour and a stone's throw from the Admiral pub/restaurant which also looks out on the harbour. We didn't eat at the pub but from what we saw the food was fine and reasonably priced.
Beautiful walks along the coastal path and a good chance of spotting the local population of dolphins just offshore (we saw them twice).
We will almost certainly return to Harbour Cottage. It was just about perfect and owners Ian and Ishbel couldn't be more helpful.

“Book Early - It's Popular”
Reviewed 16 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Met the owners at the door, a lovely couple. The house was fresh and clean with everything that you would need for a week's stay, bar the obvious. We were given the tour and told how to work stuff that we weren't sure about.

We come from a harbour town, so weren't much interested in seeing the dolphins, seals and otters, we eat them every day in Shetland. We did enjoy the view over the harbour though and the peace of the place, much due to the fact that most of the houses are holiday homes for people that weren't around when we were there.

Findochty has a shop and a pub/restaurant. The shop is fine enough. The pub/restaurant doesn't get brilliant ratings here on Trip Advisor. We were on pushbikes and managed to cycle off to nearby Cullen, Portsoy and Buckie for meals out. We only ate in when we couldn't be bothered to cycle out somewhere. There were plenty of gadgets in the kitchen to take care of every culinary need though.

All in all it was a fantastic week in a comfortable house.

Liked best: Pillows!! Fantastically comfortable. Even posh hotels get this wrong.
Liked least: Every week in the year but one was already booked - but I can see why.

“Comfortable, well equipped cottage with super views over harbour”
Reviewed 22 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We had a lovely stay at Harbour Cottage. It was very well equipped. There was a great selection of toys and games for children of all ages. It was good to have wifi - especially as there is no mobile phone reception in the cottage. The beds were very comfortable and the cottage was spotlessly clean.
The kitchen looks directly onto the harbour. Best washing up view ever!
There were interesting coastal walks from Findochty. Findochty itself is a very beautiful fishing village. It is a great location for exploring harbour towns, beaches and coastal paths. .

“Quiet and well furnished”
Reviewed 6 March 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Stayed in Harbour cottage for 6 nights and really enjoyed our stay.
Cottage really well equipped and spotlessly clean,2 large bedrooms upstairs with what look like all new furniture.Smaller bedroom downstairs with again all brand new looking furniture(bed was definitely brand new as Iain was just finishing putting it together when we arrived lol )
Lovely welcome pack from Ishbel on arrival also and lots of local info from her.
Loved the log burning stove and it could literally heat up all of the cottage.
Findochty is a lovely quiet little village to base yourself for wandering round the Northeast coast and I would love to come back to this cottage again.

“Wonderful cottage to stay in over Christmas”
Reviewed 2 February 2014 for a stay in December 2013

We came home to Scotland for Christmas from Atlanta, Georgia. We could not have been more pleased with the cottage. The view over the harbour and sail boats was a joy to look at from the kitchen. We had everything we needed and hosted several dinner parties with our families.

Ian and Ishbel had provided a very nice welcome package on our arrival, which was very much appreciated after our long trip.

We highly recommend Harbour Cottage and hope to stay again the next time we are home in Scotland.

Liked best: The cosy sitting room with the wood burning stove.
Liked least: It was too cold to sit out on the patio which would be great to do in nice weather.
