We stayed for just one night, but would have been content to spend the week at Lavender cottage. The cottage has been extremely well and sympathetically renovated and the fixtures and fittings are of a very high standard. Peter and Rosemary's attention to detail did not go unnoticed and everything is provided to ensure you want for nothing during your stay. The double room we occupied just oozed quality, from the beautiful furniture, the modern, impeccably decorated bathroom to the crisp linen that covered the very comfortable bed.
The full English breakfast was cooked to perfection and the Sunday newspaper was another nice touch. Rosemary and Peter were the ideal hosts and we have no hesitation in recommending their beautiful cottage as excellent value for money, for anyone wishing to stay in the Oxford area.

A 15 minute drive from Oxford, this wonderful cottage is a real find. It's a home from home, but with better furniture! There are 2 rooms, a double and a twin. We stayed in the double room, and really cannot fault it. My husband found the bed too soft (he told me this 2 days after our visit !!!), whereas I found it quite comfy, I guess it's a personal choice. The bathroom was clean, very well maintained and spacious. The tea/coffee tray with mint chocs/biccies and bottled water was very welcomed indeed. Breakfast was a joy. Fresh fruit as well as a full English and home baked bread, all served on Wedgewood bone china. What more could you want? The owner, Rosemary was friendly and inviting. We would only see her in the morning for breakfast, but were able to ring a bell if we needed her. The garden is well kept. The Wisteria was in full bloom and smelled delicious. It felt like an exclusive retreat. We would definitely stay there again.

This was a real surprise. At the last minute I needed to stay close to Oxford and a friend of mine recommended Lavender Cottage.
A 17th century farm house set in Old Kidlington, 5 miles north of Oxford, where the interior has been immaculately renovated by its owners. The double bedroom is beautiful and spotlessly clean and has a large ensuite shower room with luxury toileteries.
In addition to enjoy from the bedroom window I was delighted to discover an imaginatively designed garden with different rooms to enjoy. A real treat at £68 (single occupancy) inclusive a full english breakfast to send you on your way. A definite must to try for a warm welcome, easy access to Oxford and surrounds and a comfortable nights sleep.

Room Tip: Blenheim Palace 10 minutes. Capability Brown Gdns.

We really enjoyed our stay and would be confident in recommending this really well presented cottage B&B, to anyone.

We found the hosts both friendly and professional. The sort of people, that you know that anyone would feel welcome there.

The room, the food and the service was really really good.

We stayed for two nights, to attend a wedding in Oxford. The accommodation exceeded our expectations, the room was beautifully furnished, all linens, towels etc of an exceptional standard, as were the luxury range of complimentary toiletries.
Rosemary and Peter were welcoming without being intrusive. They suggested various places to dine and arranged all our transport through a local taxi firm, as we did not wish to use our car.
The breakfast selection was excellent, fresh fruit; various cereals and the cooked breakfast could not be faulted.
The property deserves the reviews it has received. We can highly recommend it and we very much hope to stay there again.

Thank you

Tom and Bernadette.

Stayed here recently for 3 days while touring the area. Easy to find but park at the front door. Twin room was beautifully furnished complete with TV, tea/coffee making facilities, magazines and spacious storage units. As we were the only guests staying we had use of 5star bathroom located next to bedroom. Bathroom equipped with fine toiletries and luxurious towels as well as having excellent shower and sunken bath. Breakfast were 6 star - fresh fruit picked from the garden, cereals, cafetiere of coffee and cooked breakfast when ordered. Excellent location for touring area and bus to Oxford literally around the corner.
Wonderful hosts - extremely helpful when seeking directions on local places of worship..

Peter and Rosemary have a wonderful home, what a joy to be welcomed into it for a night! Converted from 2 old cottages into one superior dwelling, Rosemary certainly has a good sense of style and colour to give a relaxing feel to the whole property.

After a tiring day at work and a couple of hours driving we were shown into a lovely bedroom, a good sized room with 3 windows overlooking their well groomed gardens. Peter showed us around the room which has a quality bedroom suite and 2 comfortable easy chairs. The bed was king size and luxuriously soft and comfortable. Magazines and local information were good to find and the beverage tray was elegantly arranged and easy to use. There's a very large fitted wardrobe and extra blankets were available. The ensuite was superb with a large walk in shower and plenty of space for toiletries. The towels provided were top quality.

Peter helped us with finding the opening times of the Ashmolean Museum. (We left our laptop at home but I understand wifi is provided free of charge). He also suggested local places to eat. We decided on "Ovisher", an indian restaurant less than 10 minutes walk away, which proved to be one of the best we have eaten in.

Breakfast was served in the dining area which also serves as the entrance lobby which works well. We were the only guests that morning and as it was my birthday I was delighted to sit back and receive the attentive but not intrusive service offered by Rosemary. Breakfast was simply excellent and as I commented to our hosts, far better than that offered at a 5 star hotel I had stayed in the week before!

This is a new venture for the owners, if they maintain these high standards then it shall certainly become known as one of THE places to stay in Kidlington. We chose Kidlington for its proximity to Blenheim Palace and Oxford. For the price we paid Lavender Cottage was very good value, and I highly recommend it.

Thank you for a lovely stay.
