What a view!!! Loads to do with 40 min drive. Accommodation was perfect, enjoyed evenings in the bar at chalet.. Chris could not have done more. Will be back .... Loved fresh bakery items hand delivered daily to our room!

We visited La Giettaz for the second time in January, this time with friends. We were given an extra apartment to give us a little more space - very kind! Nothing is too much trouble for Chris, who organised the creche for my daughter and skiing lessons for me & a friend before we arrived.

We dined at the bar most evenings - the food is truly superb. As the baby monitor's range stretches to the bar, we could leave our toddler to sleep whilst having a relaxing evening 'out' knowing I could pop back to the apartment if she stirred.

La Giettaz, as other reviewers say, is a very special find. The skiing at Le Plan is low key and lovely, perfect if you don't want the hectic pace of the big resorts. But if you want access to more diverse pistes, Megeve isn't far away.

We will be back.

We feel very lucky finding this gem in the heart of the alpes. I remember driving there I said to my husband: 'it all sounds to good to be true, croissants first thing in the morning, children friendly, hot tub, sauna, transfers to the slopes and back, bar, white bedding, gorgeous views and above all, very reasonably priced'. But I can with confidence say, Chalet La Giettaz did not disappoint. Nothing was too much trouble for Chris. He was a fantastic host and we will surely be back for more.

Great chalet, great hosts, well run, amazing location. Chris and Amanda and their staff are very friendly, professional and clearly love their jobs. Good food, wine, music, company and some very lucky snow conditions made this a great holiday. Mix of families and couples worked really well. Our appt had free WiFi, spacious, warm, well kitted out. Amazing views of a stunning valley and a beautiful little genuine Haute Savoie village. Don't expect the locals to speak English like the nearby resort of Megeve. Would love to return in summer as a cycling holiday, some of the finest cycling roads in the world on your doorstep. It's a drive to the ski slopes, not far (10 minutes with snow chains on), but its an extra consideration that we have not had on other holidays. Chris has a minibus and he drove the non driving people each day. Local resort is small but good, but is low at 1200m and has limited snow making capability. This years snow has been poor and we were really lucky to get skiing back to resort. North facing, near Mt Blanc normally doesn't need snow cannons I'm assured. Limited for beginners, like many of the smaller resorts with a single 4 man chair up to 1900m, eventually. Tree lined runs, very quiet and good value compared to more Anglicized resorts. Took a pass that gave us a day in Evasion Mt Blanc area including whole of Megeve and Les Contamines. Definitely worth seeing the other connected areas. You can ski across, but we drove (40 minutes), and had a good day in Megeve Cote 2000.
Overall highly recommended
