Yes, the place is beautiful but could be better with a bit of humbleness. I booked the Raffles Suite from Agoda but upon check-in, I was given a deluxe room even though the print out from Agoda clearly shows the room type. They insist that if I want a suit I have to pay the extras and blame it on Agoda for providing wrong info. Upon further checking they realized it was mistake made by their staff. There was a lady at the reception whom seems to be very angry with the male receptionist and keep on scolding him in Tamil infront of the guests and the poor guy seems to be very embarrassed. I was later handled the key, no APOLOGY given from anyone. The room was however not ready. When the maids came to clean the room, they saw my daughter and asked how many are staying in the room, when I told them my young daughter is staying with us. One of them further said "Where got young, 5 years old only young la" Since when the maids are allowed to talk to the guest in that manner? There were still used tissues behind the arm chair after the room was done. The room was however nice but everyone needs to be a bit more friendly and please don't show your angry face infront of your guests. And yes, it is pricey.

Dear Guest,We have noted your comments and taken the necessary steps.Firstly your booking with Agoda was for only 2 people and when we saw you had a child in tow we overlooked that matter at the reception. But as it turned out there were actually 4 people in your group. Our agreement with Agoda states that we allocate the rooms according to the number of pax. That is why the staff were surprised to find that with 4 pax you were actually occupying this particular room.Nevertheless we have instructed our staff to refrain from questioning the guests but instead report straight to the reception so that we can take the necessary steps. The lady was at the reception was trying to help you telling the guy to speed up checking you in as she noticed you were standing there quite long.Thank you.

What could I say, I just simply in love with this place. I knew this place more than 10 years ago and still used to call this place as "Bala's". My husband and I were there during an off-peak season, and we were given the privilege to view and choose a room upon arrival (disclaimer: this is definitely not the standard procedure. Please.. please don't get the wrong idea). Our room comes with a comfortable bed, fireplace (not working though), comfy couch, a seat by the windowsill, clean towels and basic toiletries.

We love the sandwiches, scones and tea from the kitchen. Having tea in the garden was very very very relaxing. Bring a book along, if you like.

Generally, due to the climate in Cameron, it's almost always "wet" and "moisty" but I believe they are doing their best to keep the rooms dry. I saw their effort in airing the room every morning.

Dear Guest,Thank You for a your lovely comments. Its nice that someone appreciates the effort taken by us to arrest the moist problem. This is a big issue for all hotel owners in Cameron Highlands. But nevertheless we will still try to upgrade and make the rooms as comfortable as possible for the guests.

I didn't know that this place has a rich history and that makes up for a nice story to be honest. The surrounding is actually quite nice, overgrown plants etc, lots of photographic ops if you crop certain things out and oh so much potential if only they hire the right professional. However as it is, with its kitsch deco and all, people are paying through their nose to stay here (not even free breakfast for a room of RM420 for 4 person) so what do I know? If you are on a budget, there are other places to be but if you can afford it and looking for a laugh over or something to remember later on, it's not too bad.

Stayed for three nights. An advise of a friend. Really regret we didn't do more research on it.
It's moisty, smelly and old. The owner and employees are not very helpfull.
A cols shower in the morning, not enough toiletpaper. Everything feels wet, the bed, the towels, toiletpaper.. In the morning you towel is still wet after drying all night... We do not recommend this!

We are extremely unhappy and disappointed to read your comments.Thank you for alerting us on this. The staff who was responsible for making up your room has since been fired. She was a trainee staff who was doing very slip shod work. She could not explain the wet toilet paper etc.We apologize for your unpleasant stay and hopefully we get a chance to rectify our mistake.

Beautiful colonial structures and courtyard but rooms are very musty, unclean and smelly. Paid RM300++ for a room/night with only 2 pillows , damp and smelly bed, poor TV service and water temperature. Bad breakfast! we taught they would at least have decent breakfast for the price we paid but instead all they had was a packet of bread and a toaster for you to toast your own bread. very very disappointing.

An awesome place for a little sweet escape from you busy lifestyle. Its like a total recharge. Lovely place for nature lover as the building itself is covered with green plants. Luxurious classic interior that made u feels like coming home to granny for thanksgiving. Having your morning tea in the garden with its fantastic landscape is bonus. As for photography junkie, u'll find this place as a living art even though it might look spooky at some angle.

Room Tip: Request your room wisely as different room might give you different view from ur window. And for cou...

Dear Guest,Thank you for your lovely comments. We truly appreciate your thoughts in making our place like a home away from home.We try to maintain this feeling. As you can understand this is a old colonial building, the beauty and character is in this.As such some rooms are better and nice than others hence the difference in price. It is a cottage from pre-war and has a lot of history attached to it.Thank you once again.
