The title of the review reflects how I personally see the place.

It is very close to the food places (e.g. Marry Brown, Starbucks + many other indian food shops) and you can walk a bit further (close by) and find stretches of food shops.

Unfortunately for us, we went during the 2nd week of Hari Raya hence our option for food is limited to Indian food at Tanah Rata.

We chose Deluxe room for the stay.
Honestly, looking at the review, I expected nothing more than just a place to stay.
It is true that the room has no fan but it was fitted with a ventilation vent so the air is still circulating and room is always cool/cold.

As for the toilet, the bathtub is working.
No "Do not use" sign in the toilet (as per previous reviews).
The toilet is spacious and all areas (toilet, bath, shower) were well placed and separated.

As for the shower, you will need to let it run (3-5 mins) for hot water before stepping into it.

Our fridge is not working.
Perhaps we did not turn on the switch or it is really not working (God knows).
It is not our main concern anyway so all is well for my two nights stay.

Official check in was at 3pm and we reached the hotel at about 10 ish.
Was told to come back at 12pm.

We had breakfast and our room is ready.

We are hopeful for a king sized bed (as I remember correctly that I asked for one during the booking) however only 2 singles was available.
To avoid any hassle, we agreed and chose to put the two singles together.
Do take note however that this will still caused a gap as there were allowance of frame on both beds.

Our room comes with an attached small balcony.
The view is not fantastic but I am not fussy.

Overall, it was a good stay.
Will consider to come again perhaps with a garden attached.

The hotel is strategically located as it is nearby to shops and amenities. The hotel looks very old and needs to be refurbished in pronto! Nevertheless i am very thankful that the staff is friendly, the check in process was easy and quick. I am grateful as the room was spacious and it is facing beautiful garden. only one let down, the water heater was not working properly.. it feels like we bathe using icy cold water. The breakfast spread was okay.

Having stayed in the Deluxe room at the 5th floor for one night as a stopover before our trip to Penang, I would like to state the following about this hotel:

1. Location - The hotel is strategically located within walking distances to various eateries, attractions and amenities in Tanah Rata.

2. Room- Our deluxe room was clean, and spacious. Basic facilities such as kettle, mini fridge, and safe were provided. The furnitures although quite dated were clean. I was really happy to find that the the bed was huge and extremely comfortable.

However, I personally found that the room was noisy because of it's location next to the main road. Also, because there were no fan or aircond, we felt that room was slightly stuffy and lacking good ventilation. We had to open the sliding door most of the time to aerate the room. But doing so causes bugs and noise to penetrate through the room constantly.

3. Bathroom - The bathroom was clean and well maintained. Basic toiletries and clean towels were also provided. The only dissapointment was the bath tub since you were given notice to not dip yourself inside the tub. It is strictly to be used for showering only. I find this irritating since I enjoyed long hot dips in the bath after a long day of walking.

4. Staffs - The front desk staffs were rather accomodating and friendly though they were busy due to the festive holiday crowds. Room service staffs were polite and accomodating as well.

The only issue I had was with the spa staff. Being unable to converse in the local language, the spa staffs could only speak very basic English. She could not even explain about the treatments available and had a hard time understanding the clients requirements.

5. Spa - The spa was small but welcoming. The 2 hours massage that i booked was surprisingly good. However, do not expect a quiet and calm ambience since the walls are thin and you can clearly hear the phone ringings, staff conversing and customers complaining despite the traditional spa music being played in the treatment room.

The price for treatments was affordable especially with the current promotion. I suggest you book in advance to ensure that the treatment you want is available.

6. Breakfast - Average and not much to shout about.

7. Other facilities - The hotel also provides several facilities such as the gym, billiard table and covered/open parking.

Overall, I might stay in this hotel again if I need to be within close proximity to the town area. Hopefully, by then, improvements on the said flaws were done and increased.

We booked a deluxe room for a 4 nighter. The room was aged but still comfortable. Some of the fittings really needs to be replaced though. The floor board creaked like it was going to buckle under our feet. The sofa was tarnished with stains while the bathroom seriously needed to be refurbished and at the very least, cleaned properly. It featured a bathtub which has a signage forbidding you from taking a nice evening dip. Apparently it is meant for taking a shower only. Strange... What was even stranger was the use of swivel type windows panes which let in a lot of noise from the main road. Purposeless especially when there is a mosque located in close vicinity to the hotel. There was a safe in the room but wasn't functioning. Our only saving grace was the comfortable king sized bed which guaranteed both of us a good night's rest.

Breakfast was below expectation both on spread and taste and we were shocked to be informed that they were serving Ala carte due to low occupancy. Apart for a strategic location & being surrounded by beautiful pine trees, we really could not find any reason to return to this hotel as it lacks appeal & service was usually and expectedly poor.

Room was average to good. Tips: take the garden rooms.
Good helpful management, willing to accommodate to our request.
Called in advance on a group of Can-Am Spyder arriving, requested to reserve parking and its done beautifully in front of the hotel lobby area. Claps for that!
But.. bit messy during check-in as arrangement of rooms were not as booked. Took some time to sort that out.
Breakfast was good, has the variety and taste.
Bikers: good basement parking available.

Good location, walking distant to rows of local restaurant. Clean and spacious room with small little balcony. Interesting bathroom layout. Friendly and polite staffs. We booked deluxe room for 3 pax, the extra bed is definitely not value for money. It is cheap foldable steel bed frame with super thin and shocking low quality mattress (check out my shared photo of the extra bed). You will not want to sleep on it unless you want to experience backache the next morning. No a/c or fan in the room, and the TV is from the 90's? Even the TV remote control is faulty. Please upgrade the TV. Super thin wall, the housekeeping staff was arranging stuffs and knocking things around the whole night and early in the morning. Never had a good night sleep during our stay there. Limited breakfast choice. Slow Wifi available at lobby only. Overall, average hotel, could be better.
